Who or what is this mysterious entity?

This article explores the myth of Moth Man.

Within the American state of West Virginia, there is a terrifying legend. That of the insidious Moth Man, a creature part human and insect, that stalks the night skies, searching for prey. Footage is rare, yet stories are common. Many have claimed to see this beast with their own eyes, most notably is it's huge startling red eyes, against it's dark shadowy figure. The creature has long black wings, sometimes resembling a giant humanoid bat. There have been several movies, books, TV shows and other outlets, all investigating this otherworldly legend. Is the Mothman a myth, or does this abomination truly exist? We cannot truly say, we can't prove or debunk such horrors, only share them with you.

Nobody truly knows how Moth Man came to be, this monstrosity is like something out of legend. A fantasy beast, that somehow come to earth. Perhaps it is the devil's doing, a demon among men. More disturbing theories have been discussed. Such as the possibility that Moth Man really is a cross between insect and human. Somehow birthed into existence by some bizarre lab experiment gone hideously wrong, or he could be a defected birth whose DNA crossed species into creating such an abomination.

Those who have seen the Moth Man, claimed to have been attacked by said beast. There is the notorious tale of a couple, who were driving late one night down an isolated road in West Virginia. It was a dark and lonesome road, their car beans were on full blast. Almost like the Mothman was drawn to this light, it soon flew above them, they at first thought it was a bird. Yet this flying creature soon revealed itself to be much larger, as it landed on the road ahead of them, shielding itself within it's wings like a feasting bat. They stopped the car, both horrified, yet curious by the human sized black bird that sat ahead of them. The Mothman soon reared it's head to face them, it's eyes glowing an intimidating red. The moment the couple saw this terrifying beast, with it's grotesque facial features and hideous limbs, they kicked the car into full gear and hit the pedal to the metal, in an attempt to escape. The moment the car sped, the monster flew straight for them. It crashed into the wind-shield, it's huge claw like hands reaching into scratch the husband, who was driving the vehicle. He screamed and punched his hands free, grasping the steering wheel before they spun out of control. They managed to free themselves from the beast and drove faster than the monster could fly, without stopping until they reached a populated town.

Although there isn't much video evidence to prove Moth Man's existence, there are still plenty of photographs to be found online. He has been spotted on the top of bridges, lurking high above, presumably preying on passers-by. In the tree's of thick forests, barely visible, save for his creepy red eyes. At the top of tall buildings, clinging to them like a bat. There are photos of the monster shot in the day, where it has buried itself deep within it's wings, this suggests it sleeps during the day. It is at night where the monster prowls. Much like a real moth, it seems to be attracted to the light. Some have stayed up late, where their kitchen light has been left on. It is here where Mothman has shown himself, to many terrified residents. Just imagine cooking up a meal just before bed, only to notice two creepy red lights, that grow bigger and bigger, revealing a large hideous humanoid insect behind the evil of those eyes.

It is believed the Moth Man is a cannibal, he has been spotted by hitch hikers at night, covered in blood, eating gore. Dead bodies have often been found nearby these sightings, skinned to the bone and evidently devoured. Nobody has dared to take a photo or video of the beast in this position.

Much like The Big Foot of Washington DC, the Moth Man is another mysterious entity that may or may not exist in this day and age. Just to be safe though, never drive through West Virginia at night, you never know what horrors await!
