It doesn't have to be bloody to be scary

It is one of these movies which not even makes you jump, but makes you think, you feel a dark presence next to you.

You don’t jump, you freeze, which is even worse!

It is one of these movies where you think twice whether you walk down the dark street to find your way home or not.

It is one of these movies, when you finally accept that you HAVE TO walk down this street, in order to get home, but you keep looking over your shoulder.

You are NOT listening to music because you might not hear the footsteps behind you.

You are NOT looking at your phone, because you need to see what is in front of you.

You are using it as a flashlight.

Your breath is shaky, your pace picking up.

You are paranoid, you see shadows left and right. You feel eyes stabbing in your back.

You feel a cold hand on your shoulder….!

This is how I felt when I left the cinema after watching the Conjuring 2 in cinema. Right now… writing this, I have every single light on in the house.

I am completely honest here; This film scared the s*** out of me. Fear is what describes it best.

Everything I ever saw, thinking that was scary, just crumbled into pieces. The films I have seen before were not scary. Not after watching THIS.

A quick recap of the first Conjuring (2013) if I may please:

The paranormal investigators and demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren, starred by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, also seen in the Annabelle film series, are on a case in saving another families lives which moved into a house possessed by a curse.

Ed and Lorraine discover that the house once belonged to an accused witch named Bathsheba Sherman, who sacrificed her week-old child to the devil and killed herself in 1863 at 3:07 in the morning after cursing all who would take her land. They find reports of numerous murders and suicides in houses that were built on the property.

Towards the end, the brave couple, Ed and Lorraine managed spare the lives of the family and to lift the curse, conducting exorcism.

I must say it was a good story, but nothing compared to the second part.

The Conjuring 2 (2016)

In this part, for the first time the presence of a Nun is showed. The Nun apppears continuously in the visions of Lorraine – by the way, this was also be produced and made into a later film called “The Nun”.

Janet, one of the daughters because obsessed by a demonic presence called “Wilkins” to get back his house. However, the Nun is only using, the demon called “Valak” to get close to them and make the vision become real.

But Ed and Lorraine ain’t dumb. They break the curse when Janet, the possessed girl, tried to commit suicide and Lorraine said the name of the demon, the nun was using, out loud.

Everyone was saved…for now.

Once again these amazing actors especially Wilson and Farmiga made this film as real as possible. Maybe even too real.

Even though the demon disappeared and the curse was lifted, the nun was still there and they did not realise until the next film. The nun was a very scary part. She appeared mostly in shadows, mirrors or picture frames.

It is something you don’t want to see at night when you go to get a glass of water.

I hope you enjoyed reading, but please go on now and enjoy watching.

I would suggest you take your water to bed already, so you don’t have to get up during the night. You never know what looks back at you in the mirror, or maybe waiting in the next corner.

One day I will be myself again,

and this darkness might come to an end,

and all doubt will cease,

and all strength will rise.

One day my tinted memories will be left behind,

and I will be able to see the world through a clear lens.
