The 12 Constellations
--- They weren’t supposed to stay after dark. That was the first rule. The second was simpler: never look up alone. Of course, no one took the rules seriously.

'Hokum' is an Original Horror Folktale that Brilliantly Crafts Mystery and Psychological Terror
I could not wait to watch Hokum until Friday, and I was so happy I was able to catch a Thursday night showing. I was shocked to see how many people had come to watch this film, and man, this was the perfect audience to watch the movie with. Everyone, including myself, were freaking out during the film. While the film was scary in several scenes, the storytelling was just as shocking as the nightmare the main character finds himself stuck in.

Skinwalkers: The Shapeshifters That Still Haunt the American Southwest. Content Warning. AI-Generated.
In the deserts of Arizona, across lonely highways cutting through Navajo land, and in the endless darkness surrounding abandoned ranches in Utah, there are stories people refuse to tell after sunset. Not ghost stories. Warnings. The Navajo call them yee naaldlooshii — “with it, he goes on all fours.” To outsiders, they are known simply as Skinwalkers: witches said to possess the ability to transform into animals, imitate human voices, and hunt people beneath the cover of night. Unlike modern internet creepypastas, the legend of the Skinwalker did not begin online. It is rooted deeply within Navajo spiritual belief, where discussing these entities openly is considered dangerous. Even today, many Navajo elders avoid speaking about them entirely. And perhaps that silence is what makes the stories so terrifying. Because the people who claim to encounter Skinwalkers often describe the same horrifying details. Yellow eyes. Animals standing upright. Voices calling from the darkness. And something impossibly fast chasing them through the desert night.

PLAYHOUSE Chapter 1/10
So Sufyan took the job because he had to. That's the honest version. The other version is that he took it because it seemed fine, sixty bucks to walk around an old building for a few hours, but really he took it because Omar had pulled him aside the week before and said the words "reassessment of your position" and Sufyan had said okay, yeah, I'll take the next one. And the next one was this.

The Silent Train
Arrival The train arrived without a sound. Elias didn’t notice it because of noise—but because everything else had gone silent: the faint buzz of the lights, the distant murmur of people, even the steady tapping of his foot against the floor. All of it stopped at once, as if the world had been muted. He looked up, expecting to see the usual late-night commuters, but the station was empty. Completely empty.

The Cursed Canvas: A Painting That Refused to Be Owned...
There are objects that carry stories. And then there are objects that seem to carry something else entirely. In late 2023, tucked between mismatched teacups and forgotten paperbacks in a quiet UK charity shop, a painting appeared for sale. It wasn’t particularly large. Nor was it by any known artist. To most passersby, it might have looked like just another discarded relic, something once cherished, now abandoned.

The Wendigo In Me
“Pierre, the next time we are looking for somewhere to take a vacation we won’t be asking you for suggestions. Why we ever let you talk us into a backpacking trip into the woods of Northern Maine still makes no sense to me.”

Ghostly Happenings in Illinois
Beheaded Ghost Cave-in-Rock State Park is located along the Ohio River and a most notorious treasure hunting spot in Southern Illinois. There were river pirates, highwaymen, counterfeiters, and horse thieves in this area between the 1790s and the 1870s. As much as one million dollars worth of stolen loot and counterfeit money changed hands here during this time. The best-known story is about the Mason gang who stashed gold in the cave. Unfortunately, Samuel Mason was captured and beheaded before he could get to the gold. Now visitors to this area have heard moans and cries echoing from the cave, and it could be the ghost of Mason looking for his gold.

The Dybbuk: The Possessing Spirit That Refuses to Die. Content Warning. AI-Generated.
There are monsters that kill from the shadows. And then there are monsters that wear your face. The Dybbuk is one of the oldest and most terrifying entities in Jewish mysticism — not because it tears flesh apart like a beast, but because it crawls into the human body and slowly destroys a person from within. According to centuries of folklore, a dybbuk is the restless spirit of a dead person, too corrupted or tormented to move on after death. The word itself comes from the Hebrew term meaning “to cling”nor “to attach.” That single definition captures the horror perfectly. A dybbuk does not haunt a house. It clings to a living soul.
