EDITORIAL: Why Lucio Fulci's Gates of Hell Trilogy Rocks
Often referred to as the "Italian godfather of gore" by fans, cult director Lucio Fulci is one of the most beloved horror filmmakers of all time. While he has dabbled in other genres, including westerns, comedies, and even a couple of kids' movies, it is his horror films that made him a legend. While I would consider 1979's Zombie to be his masterpiece, his Gates of Hell trilogy is very much worth examining. Despite not being quite as controversial as Don't Torture a Duckling or The New York Ripper, Fulci's reputation as a purveyor of nastiness is still quite evident in these films. All three of them involve, of course, some sort of property being constructed on one of the supposed gateways into Hell (a sort of spin on the “Indian burial ground” trope). Obviously, this leads to the residents of said area to be endangered. While none of the three films are connected by shared stories or characters, the thematic connection(s) has led them to be deemed a trilogy of sorts. All three were directed by Fulci and co-written by himself and Dardano Sacchetti (among some additional writers). All three films also happened to star actress Catriona MacColl, albeit as three entirely different characters.

Scariest Night of MY LIFE
It was about 7:30 Pm & I decided to go for a drive my ex husband said don't take the SUV I said I'm going please give me the keys. I've been home all day & wanted to get out. So he gave me the keys & said don't go too far there's not enough gas in the car. I said okay fine. So I left as I was driving I noticed the moon & it looked orange reddish to me like the Blood Moon. If you know Criss Angel & what he can do then you will believe me. I was thinking of him b/c of his head on the pillow with blood & I believe everything he does is real NOT fake.

Trials of Tribulation
It was a dark and snowy night. The roads were covered in a thick white sheet of snow, and it was hard to tell where the road curved, and where it didn't. Grace was doing her best to keep the car under control and on the road at all times. She had been visiting family for the weekend and was heading back to her cabin when the blizzard had started. All seemed calm throughout the drive, except for the fact that Grace can't see very well at night, so she was panicking. "One wrong turn and it's over." She thought over and over again. She decided to try and calm her nerves by putting on some music. As she shuffled through her car for a CD, she began to swerve slightly off the road. Once she noticed, it was too late. The road had curved to the left and she was drifting to the right.

A Fright-filled Night With Netflix
I love scary movies. There is no sugar coating it. For those who agree with me, we all know there are levels to this. From horror, suspense, thriller, hack and slash, gore, and all of the sub-genres that fall in between. Since I am now home almost all of the time, I have the luxury of Netflix, and there's nothing better than watching scary movies all day (at least until RE2Remake comes out). More times than not, I find a really whack "scary" film, and I become so upset that I search out my ramen cabinet to compensate for disappointment. Now, with that being said, I HAVE found some fright films that I would like to share with you because if I am going, to be honest with myself, my Halloween is every day. 😊

Netflix, Eat, and chill...Alone
I have been going a little crazy bingeing on Netflix, and I must say, I am proud of the collection they have. I've become SUPER excited (where's my cape?) to sit back and binge on adrenaline-rushed fear or... whatever tickles my fancy. The atmosphere is dark, and I slowly try not to crunch too loud on my snacks in fear of waking up the dead. 😂

Did you know Frankie Soloman? Yeah. He was my best friend. Oh, I’m sorry. Yeah, so am I. There was a cup of water placed in front of me. My mouth kept feeling dry, so I kept sipping it. I don’t know why I was nervous, but I could feel the jitters passing through my legs and into my chest.

The Invisible Man - Review
The fantastic horror movie Invisible Man is an amazing piece of work. The picture does not repeat the plot of the work of Herbert Wells, even though there is an invention in the film, thanks to which the body goes into an invisible state. Here, modern scientific development is used with a cynical purpose - to pursue and punish a victim who believes that she managed to escape from the offender.

3 Creepy binge-worthy Films
2018 did not disappoint me with its horror movies. Movies like Winchester, Annihilation, Insidious, and The Quiet Place are not lacking in the jumping department and give quite a thrill for those with strong imaginations. I am most excited about the upcoming films like the Halloween reboot and The Nun ( I have yet to mosey over to my local cinema). As of lately, I have been binging on Netflix to find its hidden gems, and I, of course, landed right into Halloween heaven. I made my way from the genres of horror and thriller and have seen some creepy AF movies that will make any Scary Movie Buff proud to watch.

I cut the film, slice by slice. The scissors glide along like skates on ice. Sliver and slice goes my knife. Kneecaps pop as my knife slides in, down these shins with many grins.

Blood Suckers
Hands up if you love vampires! That’s what I thought. The blood-sucking undead doesn’t even love themselves. I’d know, I’ve seen the movies. In Dracula’s own words right there in Stephen Sommers’s Van Helsing movie; ‘NO! I have no heart, I feel no love. Nor fear, nor joy, nor sorrow. I am hollow… and I will live forever.’ Who would love such a loveless hollow creature?
