The Legendary Witch Who Froze To Death
Cold temps are fast approaching and the residents of Leonardtown, Maryland know that this can only mean one thing, that along with the freezing rain and snow, the curse of Moll Dyer will cast a dark shadow over the town's people yet once again. In 1697, Moll Dyer, a woman accused of being a witch simply because she survived the bitter cold without so much as a sniffle while most of the town's people were suffering from famine, hunger, disease, and eventually death, was forced from her only shelter and thrown out into the zero degree temps with only the rags on her back.

Unfortunate Fortune
I'm in shock. I must be. That's the only explanation I can come up with right now. I can't move, I can't speak, I'm just staring at the blood all over me. The blood soaking through my beige t-shirt, the scarlet droplets running down my white shoes, and the streaks that now stained my arm and hands red. I can't even comprehend what the officer is saying. All I kept thinking about is how I had never seen so much blood or heard the crunch of a body being hit by a car then colliding into the street pavement. I could see the chaos ensuing around me but I couldn't hear any of it. Have I gone deaf? I thought to myself. Sirens flailed while paramedics, officers, and bystanders gazed at the horrific scene before them. Two investigators were talking to hysterically crying, women. What the poor woman didn't know is the man she thought she killed with her car was already dying upon impact.

Was it worth it
“Was it really worth it?” He asked himself that question every single day. He found the little black book in a hidden compartment in his grandfathers desk. It had a series of numbers next to dates going forward at least twenty years that appeared to be lottery numbers. At the end of the book there was a warning that read “Never win more than $20,000 or IT will come for you”

The Little Black Book of Regrets
The Little Black Book of Regret It was an unassuming little notebook. Midnight black leather and no bigger than your hand. It had been well used for years, it seemed. A blue rubber band stood in for the broken elastic band on the back.

Queen of Demons
Many people speak about fear. They don’t know anything about it. If there is anyone or anything to fear it is a foul and sadistic creature that goes by the name, Gorea. Insatiable Greed
The heavy rain stopped about halfway through Claire’s shift at the restaurant and now was just a light drizzle. Which was just fine to her, actually she preferred it this way. She liked the rain sure, but today she had plans. First up was the walk to the book store, then some lunch and then home. But it was time to go. She put on her red coat, pulled her reddish hair back into a ponytail, and headed out the door. Although the book store was only half a block away walking was in order. The cold caused her to bundle up more, but in no time, she made it under the covered stone walkway of the mini mall where the bookstore was located. Her excitement was building as she came up to the large windows which showed off various books and comics that were on sale, this was her happy place. Past the large metal and glass double doors was a table strategically placed to catch people's attention. On the table were books, comics, pens, and notebooks all of which were on sale. She took the time to look everything over. Out of everything on display, the only thing to catch her eye was a single little black book. Leather bound and a little worn it drew her attention, and for some strange reason she felt compelled to pick it up. It was the typical size of any other notebook, and she loved the pure leather smell. Flipping through the pages, she knew she had to have it. So, it was hers now.

Permanent
It arrived one day with the rest of the mail. Bills, a magazine for LL Bean, and the notebook. Tucker brought it in and tossed the pile carelessly onto the kitchen table. We rarely opened the mail anymore, so it quickly got buried under a newspaper, Ella’s abandoned homework, and – I’m ashamed to admit – a decent amount of crumbs.
