Would You Read My Book?
"You can't leave yet!" Cora shouted over the music. "It's only 11!" "I gotta study!" shouted Noel, tipping back the last of her Jack and coke. "Lame!" Cora rolled her eyes and hugged her friend goodbye. "I'll see you tomorrow." said Noel. She slipped on her jacket and made her way towards the exit.

Beware of the Black Book
As I sit at my desk trying to finish the last chapter of my novel," Coded Riddles," I eventually throw my hands up into the air, dropping my pencil just before I turn off my desk light to call it a night. After turning off my light, I stand up and walk over to my bed then sit down on the edge of the mattress. While sitting there, staring out my window in front of me, begin wishing; that I had a way to fix all of my problems, but realize there is no chance of that ever happening. I reach out in front of me to close my curtains, then turn around to stretch out on my bed, letting sleep take me.

Germaine Street - Chapter One
It started as a smell. No, that’s too concrete a description, it started as a scent. Not quite perceptible but enough to set Kitty Rirsen’s concentration off track. She had been in the middle of prepping the whitetail chili when she began to, well, “notice” was perhaps putting it too strongly but something felt..off. The fine hairs that had run down her spine the last few days bristled unbidden, Kitty was glad that it wasn’t closer to the core days.

Alix and the Haunted Clothes Dryer
Alix slowly dropped the last quarter into the slot and...nothing happened. She looked around nervously, a bit sheepishly, which was out of character for her, and giggled to herself. Turning back to the machine, she selected “low heat” and started the dryer. Haha, haunted clothes dryer. How stupid! she thought to herself, snorting, and returned to her shiny plastic chair by the window to dive back into the steamy existential romance novel she brought with her to pass the time.

The Spell Of Wealth!
“HAZEL!! HAZEL!! WAKE UP! THE HOUSE IS ON FIRE!” The screams from my mother echoed in my ear. I opened my eyes to see nothing but a thick grey smoke. Scared and confused, I felt her pulling me from my bed. We ran as fast as we could to flee from the burning house.

The Little Book That Dreams Wrote.
It’s 6:04 Monday Morning. Burts bloodshot eyes open to his bland room; white walls fading in colour, an old work desk and a cheap table-top fan buzzing away on his bedside table. It blows his window blinds back and forth with the steady breeze entering from the bustling uncaring city outside, water droplets create a metronome as they slowly fill a bucket in the centre of his bedroom from the ceiling leakage.

The Little Black Book
To the sole beneficiary, I was more than a little insulted when I saw the back of you that day. I suppose you find it surprising to find yourself addressed on the first page of this little black book, but there you are. It’s been ten years by my count, but I know it will be many more before you read this. It comes to you as my price for the fortune you are to inherit from me. When you have read it, everything I had will be yours. The house. The fortune. The lands. The secrets.
