Swindled Spirit
Walking through the fog and sometimes in complete darkness, he always wondered how he got here, there, or anywhere. His clothes never got old, and his pale skin was always yearning for warmth. It was all gone inside his head, his heart, and his lust completely absent. He didn’t know where he was going or what he did before, but only pictures flashed in his head sporadically in terms of years or if even that. He didn’t know how long a year was any more or anything that pertained to time.

Alex tapped a clear plastic pen off the side of his white plastic coffee cup to the rhythm of The William Tell overture. It caused circular ripples to spread across the surface of the brown liquid within that had long gone cold. Entertainment at work was scarce save for the screens that flickered occasionally in front of him and the waste paper basket in the corner, around which were littered objects he’d failed to throw into it. Alex’s pen was the next item to follow the discarded pieces of screwed up paper and office bric-a-brac onto the floor as it ricocheted off the rim of the basket, cannoning off the wall and embedding itself in half a ham sandwich he’d tossed there a few hours ago. Glancing at the weary-looking wall clock every few minutes while leaning on the back two legs of his chair made the day pass more slowly than if he did what he was paid to do.

The Heart of the Forest
Conrad stood at the perimeter of the glade, but his thoughts were on the townspeople that he had passed fleeing south in bumper-to-bumper traffic, while he alone headed north on the freeway. He grieved for those who had already died from the bitter winter and for those who were running from the utter ruin that the ever-growing blizzard portended. Since the year of his birth, winters in his town had grown progressively worse - both longer and colder. He’d often wondered if somehow it had been his fault but other children had been born that year.

The King! I Found the King!
I’m going to start with I think summer birthdays suck! I know that is not the popular opinion but my birthday is in the latter half of July which meant that my friends were all off visiting family or adventuring somewhere. It is also the dead of summer and I despise the heat. As a child I spent my birthdays with family, meaning my cousins, and not that we didn’t get along but we were not close. We didn’t have a whole lot in common, still don’t in fact.

Vampires?
Vampires? Such a thing actually exist you might wonder? Vampires have been around for over a thousands of years... each vampire has a different name and the powers that they have. You might have seen vampires in movies where they drink human blood and the human dies afterwards, or when a vampire tries to save a human by biting them and giving their own blood! That can be true for some vampires that actually have the power to save or fully kill a human. Like I said before, there are MANY DIFFEREN'T vampires in the whole world.
