Introduction
This is very influenced by the series "Supernatural" which I am now up to series four of. I saw something in one episode and think that this scenario would be a perfect attraction for Sam and Dean.
In The Glass
Another dead body.
It looked like a heart attack, and the person's face was contorted in such a look of horror.
This was the fifth in the same neighborhood, on a newish development. Everyone was in their front room and they looked as though they had been frightened to death.
All of the dead people were aged between thirty and fifty, with no physical issues, four had gym memberships that they made frequent use of, and the fifth was an active member of their community.
Autopsies were done and the conclusion was that all these people had died of cardiac arrest, probably due to some extremely traumatic event, but what that event was, could not be determined. As one policeman noted, they looked as though they had literally been scared to death.
The thing is, one death would have been just that, nothing to be concerned about, but five in the space of a few weeks was very worrying. There were rumors of poisoning, something in the water supply, and many other things.
We live in a time where most people believe the ridiculous rather than the probable truth, although in this case, the probable truth looked to be very far away.
There was absolutely no reason why these people had died in the way that they did. Answers were being demanded from the authorities but the police investigators and medical specialists were still at a loss as to why these deaths had occurred.
Two of the deceased had no living family and the other three's families had demanded that the houses be put up for sale, although because of what had happened, as yet, there had been no interest shown in the properties.
During the investigations, a couple of the persons involved had said they thought they had seen people in the front rooms through the windows but put it down to reflections or tricks of the light.
Then there was a sixth death.
The estate was given the nickname "The Cemetry" and "The Terminal Ward". Houses began to be put up for sale, but because of what was happening no one was interested in buying.
Again the figures in the windows were seen and again brushed off as reflections in the glass.
Investigations were carried out into the construction of the houses and the land they stood on. The land had always been agricultural according to records going back as far as the Domesday Book, but it turned out that many of the houses had used reclaimed stone and glass from a deconsecrated cathedral sold off by the church. The reason it had been deconsecrated was that it had been used for many terrible rituals which included human blood sacrifices. Nothing could be found about what these rituals included but the bodies had been burned and the remains scattered on unconsecrated ground.
Then two forensic experts were in the latest front room trying to find any external evidence of what had happened, and they ran from the room screaming at what they saw:
A crowd of mutilated corpses was coming towards them through the front window. Though they knew this could not be real they still had to be treated for shock, but luckily they were able to describe what had happened and what they saw.
It was decided that this must have happened in all the cases, but any house that had used any reclaimed materials from that cathedral would have to be pulled down and the debris sent for landfill.
They didn't know whether the land could be reused again, it might still be haunted, and even if the materials used were all new, this land might be permanently tainted.
The nightmares had been in the glass and had frightened people to death, but even when that glass was destroyed the nightmares might still remain.

Fascinating Story❤️😉👍
Whoaaa, this was extremely creepy and well done! I loved it!
Very creepy. Well done, Mike.
Interesting premise for an episode. I haven't seen much of the series (one season, I think), but it got me thinking in a different direction. What if it's not actually supernatural but a serial killer & the main plot for a full season of "Dexter"?
I agree with Will! Nice!
I love this story! Usually not interested in horror stories but your first lines caught my attention and I just sort of flowed with it.
