He couldn't save her and sat alone with his dead wife.

Tired and weary, Murlock fell asleep.

From the window of his house, a cry could be heard that looked very much like a child lost in the deep forest.

Murlock didn't move.

The crying sounded again and louder.

When Murlock woke up, he felt a strange presence in his house.

There were some strange movements in the dark.

He fired his gun into the air and lit a candle.

Murlock watched as a leopard lifted his wife's neck.

4. “The Spooky Story of a Passenger” by Jan Harold Brunvand

A man was driving his vehicle late at night when he saw a girl asking for a ride.

The man gave her a lift and they started an interesting conversation.

After a while, he dropped the girl off at her house.

The next day, the man accidentally saw the girl's sweater left on the seat of his car.

He also decided to go to the girl's house to return the sweater.

When ringing the bell, an old woman opened the door.

The man told the incident last night and gave the sweater to the old woman.

The old woman refused and suddenly looked gloomy.

The man asked again about the woman who was given a ride last night.

He was shocked when the old woman said that the sweater she left in the man's car belonged to her daughter who died in a car accident a few years ago.

5. "Three days ago"

The past few months, I've had trouble sleeping.

Neighbors on the side of the house often hold parties with their mistresses.

In fact, I have reprimanded her many times not to make loud noises, but the widowed woman is indifferent.

Strangely, this week, I can sleep more satisfied after I stuck a sharp knife right in the woman's chest.
