Stella got up from the couch slowly, her head pounding and her vision slightly blurry. She could feel blood running from her nose, but she knew she had to help her friend. She stood up and steadied herself, sneaking over to the kitchen to get a knife out of the block. She grabbed the biggest one there and started to make her way to the bedroom. "I just want you to answer one question before you do whatever it is you're going to do to me" Casey said to James in a low, wavering voice. "And what could you possibly need to know at this point in time?" James asked in a hissing tone, growing frustrated that she interrupted him. "I just want to know, how long have you been watching me? You seem to know a lot about my life." Casey couldn't believe she brought herself to ask this question, but she was hoping the police would show up in time.

"Long enough to know you're a tease, that you flirt with guys every where you go and leave them hanging. I must admit though, I am surprised you gave me your number on our first meeting since that isn't something you seem so willing to do." James said in a laughing voice. "What are you talking about? I don't flirt with guys, I have been single for a long time and have chosen to be, so I don't flirt!" Casey scoffed back.

Stella made it right outside the door and was listening to Casey try to keep James distracted. She knew it wouldn't last long, she knew she had to act. Why weren't the police there yet? It felt like hours since she called. Stella steadied herself against the door frame. She snuck a couple of steps inside the room, ready to strike, when she heard James say "Oh, Stella, I was wondering when you would join us. You didn't seem like the kind of girl who gives up so easily." Stella froze, she couldn't move anymore, she thought she had been so quiet, but then she looked around and realized James had been extra prepared as he put mirrors around the entire room to make sure he was uninterrupted. Or maybe it was because he wanted to watch himself.

Frozen in her spot, James came over to Stella, stared her right in the eye and took the knife she was holding from her hand. He moved the knife to her neck, holding it against her throat. "IF you move so much as a muscle, I will slit your throat" he hissed in her ear. Stella's eyes got wide and all she could do was nod her head. James returned his attention to Casey. Using the knife he had just taken from Stella, he started cutting off Casey's clothes, starting at the ankle of her pants and working his way up. Every inch, Stella got more and more worried for her friend and what she was about to see.

Stella pulled out another knife, one she had hidden, but she made sure it was when James wasn't watching his mirrors and focusing on his task at hand. She waited until the perfect time and watched to make sure James wasn't looking. As soon as he leaned down closer to Casey's body, she lunged at him, thrusting the knife into his neck. He spun round fast, slashing his knife about, trying to strike his target. He became dizzy and was bleeding badly, his body becoming heavy. He sunk to the floor, gasping for air. Stella ran over to Casey, making sure she wasn't hurt, but saw a cut on her thigh that was bleeding pretty bad. Stella did what she could think of and tied a scarf tight around Casey's leg, above the cut, and pressed a cloth against the cut, trying to stop the bleeding.

Finally, the police arrived, rushing into the apartment, calling for the paramedics to come in ASAP as they had two wounded. They saw James and asked Stella what had happened. She told them the whole story and what she had done to stop James. The police thanked her, as apparently James was a wanted rapist and murderer in 3 states. They finally caught him, though he wasn't alive, but no one seemed to care that he didn't get to prison for his crimes, because at least this way he had no chance of hurting anyone else ever again. They asked Stella to come with them to the station to take a full statement and they rushed Casey to the hospital to get the bleeding to stop, hoping that the femoral artery hadn't been hit. All Casey could think, though she knew she was injured, was "Finally, it's over!"
