Josh just started his first day on the nightshift at the local department store when the unbelievable happened. He and Steven walked the last employee out of the building when they began to settle in for the night. One stayed in the camera room while the other checked the floors for any stragglers. As Steven reached the front doors, the lights were turned down for the night. He observed the last car leave the lot and radio back an all clear on the first floor.

Josh left his station to check the second floor. All was quiet, thinking it was going to be another boring night, something caught his eye. He moved closer to what looked like a dark shadow. "Excuse me Miss but the store is closed for the night," he called out; to no avail. He drew closer, "I'm sorry Ma'am but I must ask you to leave the building." The figure moved at a faster pace towards the elevator away from him as he rushed past aisles of clothing and kitchen accessories.

It was not until, the figured stopped at the doors of the elevator that he was able to reach the individual. Just as he was about to ask the young lady to leave once more, he could hear a scream come from the first floor. Josh had taken his eyes off of her for just a moment to see what direction the scream came from. It was only when he heard the elevator doors open that he turned his attention back to the young lady and noticed he was speaking to only half of her. Startled, he fell back and watched the doors closed before him, still not believing his eyes.

As he snapped out of it, he could still hear the scream as before coming from the first floor. Josh got himself off the floor and ran down to the first floor wanting to find out what the commotion was and to tell his co-worker what unbelievable thing just happened to him. He arrived to find Steven yelling his name by the elevators. "What's wrong, what's wrong," he exclaimed. "You are not going to believe what happened to me upstairs." As Josh turned to motion in the direction that he came from. They both observed the bottom half of a young lady walking away from the elevators. "Josh, that is what I wanted to tell you," Steven stuttered.

Each concurred not to speak of it to anyone but had no idea of what they actually saw. It was not until the daylight had finally reached the doors, releasing the men from their confines and a night that they will ever forget. Josh was the first to let the morning staff in for the day, when Steven was greeted by the building maintenance staff. One noticed the elevator doors opening and closing by themselves. They had turned to look at a much older co-worker stating "That Nicole must be at it again," and then shrugged it off as if it was nothing out of the ordinary. "Nicole," Josh questioned.

One of the other maintenance staff answered, "Yeah, you never heard of the story of Nicole. She used to work here back in the day as a sales clerk. One night while working late she waited for the elevator with too many items in her arms. As the doors opened, she dropped one and as she bent over to pick it up the doors closed on her; separating her top from her bottom half. What a tragedy, a very pretty lady." When the older co-worker finished his statement with, "Every now and then you can see her in one shape or form walking the floor(s)." No doubt to both men that it was she that they saw that night.
