Unsolved Egyptian Mysteries

Today I want to share with you some of the most fascinating ancient Egyptian mysteries that have puzzled historians and archaeologists for centuries. Ancient Egypt was one of the most advanced and influential civilizations in the world, but it also left behind many secrets and mysteries that we are still trying to unravel.

Here are some of the most intriguing ones:

• Who was the mysterious Pharaoh Akhenaten and why did he change the religion of Egypt to worship only one god, the sun disk Aten? (Ahkenaten is so different of other pharaohs)

Well, he was a guy who ruled ancient Egypt for about 17 years and decided to change the whole religion of his people. He ditched the traditional gods and goddesses and worshiped only one god, the sun disk Aten. He also moved the capital city to a new place and built a bunch of temples and statues for his new god. He was so obsessed with Aten that he changed his own name from Amenhotep IV to Akhenaten, which means "servant of Aten". He also made himself and his family look very weird in art, with elongated heads, skinny bodies and big hips. Some people think he had a genetic disorder or a hormonal imbalance, but others think he was just trying to be different. He was not very popular with his subjects, who probably missed their old gods and their old city. After he died, his successors tried to erase his memory and destroy his monuments. He was forgotten for a long time, until archaeologists rediscovered him in the 19th century. Now he is one of the most fascinating and controversial figures in ancient history.

• What happened to his beautiful wife Nefertiti and his son Tutankhamun, who restored the old gods after his father's death?

Well, that's a mystery that has puzzled historians for centuries. Some say she died of a plague, some say she was murdered by her jealous husband, some say she ran away with a handsome general, and some say she was abducted by aliens. But the truth is, no one really knows. Maybe she just got bored of living in the desert and decided to go on a vacation. Maybe she's still out there, enjoying the sights and sounds of the world. Maybe she'll come back someday and tell us her story. Or maybe not.

• How did the ancient Egyptians build the pyramids, the largest and most complex structures ever made by humans? (are may theory’s but none is plausible)

• How did they align them with the stars and the cardinal points? (so sophisticated)

• What was their purpose and what secrets do they hide inside their chambers and passages? (We Wish to know)

• What is the meaning of the hieroglyphs, the ancient Egyptian writing system that was lost for millennia until the discovery of the Rosetta Stone in 1799?

• How did they encode their language, culture, religion and history in these symbols?

• What are some of the most important texts and inscriptions that we can read today?

• What is the origin and significance of the Sphinx, the colossal statue of a lion with a human head that guards the pyramids of Giza?

• Who built it and when?

• What is the riddle that it posed to travelers and what is hidden under its paws?

• What is the mystery of the mummies, the preserved bodies of the pharaohs and other elites that were buried with elaborate rituals and treasures?

• How did they achieve such a high level of embalming and preservation? What can we learn from their DNA, diseases, injuries and lifestyles? (this could be constructive)
