The Free African Slave

Bound by chains and sold in disgust,

Torn from his land with a heart full of trust,

Stripped of his name and his dignity too,

A slave without hope with nothing to do.

For years he labored, with no end in sight,

His sweat and blood poured from morning to night,

His cries of pain ignored by those who owned,

And a soul so broken, left all alone.

But one day he rose, with pride in his heart,

And made a bold choice, before he would depart,

He broke the chains and escaped from his fate,

And vowed to himself, he won't be a slave.

He roamed through lands where freedom was law,

With his head held high and his spirit in awe,

Met others like him, who fought for their right,

And they formed a bond that shined so bright.

He spoke of his story, to the world he told,

Of injustice and cruelty, the horrors untold,

In chains they came, with hearts so full of pain,

Torn from their homes, they crossed the ocean main,

With every beat, they longed to be free again.

And yet they toiled, with sweat upon their brow,

In fields of cotton, sugar cane and plow,

Their spirits broken, they wondered how.

Their bodies battered, their spirits low,

They prayed for freedom, they prayed for hope,

With every breath, they clung to faith's rope.

But slavery's grip, held them firm and strong,

Their voices silenced, their dreams were gone,

They longed to sing a different song.

Till one day came, a voice so loud and clear,

A call for justice that all could hear,

A hope of freedom, that drew so near.

And so they rose, with courage in their soul,

Their hearts ablaze, they stood up tall,

And claimed their rights, they broke the mold.

And now they stand, in proud and regal stance,

A testament to strength and perseverance,

Their legacy a guide for every circumstance.

And with his voice he changed the game,

The free African slave, his legacy remains.

Step by step, I walk to freedom,

Leaving behind the chains that bound me,

These tired feet march towards a new kingdom,

Where justice, peace, and love will surround me.

The road is long, the journey hard,

But faith, hope, and courage keep me going,

I carry the light, the emblem of my card,

That leads me to the freedom I'm pursuing.

No more the yoke, no more the pain,

I shed the past, and embrace the present,

I walk to a future, bright and sane,

With dignity, respect, and honor as my pendant.

An angel of justice, with wings of light,

Appeared in the night, dispelling the fright,

He called out a name, that brought such delight.

A slave, bound in chains, with tears in his eyes,

Looked up to the sky, and heard a surprise,

His prayers answered, he could hardly surmise.

The angel touched him, and the chains fell away,

A sign of freedom, that precious day,

The slave fell to his knees, he knew what to say.

"Thank you, Lord, for this gift of grace,

For breaking the chains, and shining your face,

I will walk in your path, with humble pace."

The angel spoke, "Rise up my friend,

Your journey begins, a new life to spend,

No more a slave, but a free man until the end."

The slave stood tall, with a heart filled with glee,

He walked towards the future, that awaited him to see,

His past left behind, he was finally free.

This is the story of the free African slave!!!
