Unsolved Mysteries of the Bible: From Ethiopia to Lost Manuscripts

My name is Triumphator and today I will tell you about 7 unsolved mysteries of the Bible. Among theologians, there are intriguing theories that the Garden of Eden, where Adam could exist in reality, and it was not just a symbolic or mythological place. Supporters of this theory point to the history of the creation of everything in the Book of Genesis and interpret it so that the Garden of Eden could be in or close to Ethiopia.

The Book of Genesis 2:13 mentions rivers that flowed through Eden, including one called the Gihon, which gave birth to the entire country of Kush or Ethiopia. Adding more fuel to this theory is the fact that paleontologists believe Ethiopia to be a very significant territory of human origin. Quite recently, on the territory of Ethiopia, they found a jawbone 2.8 million years old.

A strange, incomprehensible monster that is mentioned in the Book of Job is called a "behemoth." A negatively colored spiritual creature, a demon of carnal desires, especially gluttony, a behemoth is mentioned in many literary works, including the works of the English philosophers Thomas Hobbes and John Milton's "Paradise Lost."

However, no one is exactly sure what a behemoth is in the Bible. The creature is described as a giant beast with limbs similar to iron rods and a tail like a cedar. Theologians have speculated several options about what a behemoth could be: an elephant, a hippopotamus, or even a dinosaur. However, the behemoth may be a mythological creature like unicorns, which are also mentioned in the Bible.

The Bible describes in great detail how the apocalypse will happen and how the earth and everything else will be laid bare. But the main mystery remains: when these events will happen. Over the last thousand years, there have been about 80 documented doomsday predictions based on scripture. According to scripture, this day will come at the end of a period called the millennium.

Throughout history, people have used scripture to predict a potential apocalypse. For example, in the year 1000, peasant armies waged wars against various pagan countries, killing thousands of people to force them to convert to Christianity before judgment day.

Theologians say that the Bible most likely does not mean exactly 1000 years. The Apostle Peter mysteriously wrote that for God, one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like one day.

Theologians believe that Jesus actually existed, regardless of whether he was the Son of God or not. There are many teachings focused on the study of the life of Jesus. These teachings are greatly complicated by the fact that it is not clear exactly when Jesus Christ was born.

The Bible directly states that Jesus was born during the reign of King Herod, when the first great census of every citizen of the Roman Empire took place. Therefore, Mary and Joseph needed to return to Bethlehem. But this cannot be true because King Herod died 10 years before this great census. We can only assume that Jesus was born somewhere around the first century, but we cannot say exactly when.

Historians also agree with the idea that Jesus was not born on December 25th. The date was popularized as Christmas 300 years after his death and potentially tied to the winter solstice holidays.

With 300,000 words and 1189 chapters, the Bible is one of the longest texts ever written. The Bible consists of 66 individual books, but surprisingly, there must have been 83 of them. At least 17 books disappeared without a trace from our modern Bible. No one knows what happened to them. We know that these books existed because there are references to them in other parts of the Bible. For example, in Chronicles 29:29.

The main mystery is what was written in the disappeared books. There is a version that what was written there did not fit with the general idea of Christianity, and these books were deliberately hidden.

The idea that Jesus could have been married gave rise to many disputes in the fields that last for years. There are theories that Jesus was married to Mary Magdalene, a woman who is often mentioned in the New Testament. Moreover, this was hinted at by a papyrus that was discovered in 2012 and was called the Gospel of the Wife of Jesus. Examination analysis confirmed that this papyrus was written in biblical times.

The theory of the sacred genealogy of Jesus continues the hypothesis of Jesus' marriage and that the couple had a child whose descendants, in theory, could live for centuries and exist even in our times.

One of the most mysterious secrets about Jesus is what he did during the period of his life between twelve and thirty years old. Historians don’t even know which country he lived in. There are several theories about where Jesus lived. For example, one theory is that he supposedly lived in Kashmir in South Asia, then became a student of a Buddhist teacher in Japan, or joined a secret monastic sect in the Judean desert.

These theories come from many sources. The idea that he visited Japan is present in local traditions and is based on ancient documents that supposedly disappeared during the Second World War. According to British legend, in which King Arthur was involved, Jesus even visited Britain and left the Holy Grail there.

However, there is no serious archaeological evidence to support these theories. The missing years of Jesus remain a mystery.
