'Y&R' Fans Debate who Phyllis Will Sink Her Claws Into Next

Recently on The Young and the Restless, the opening scene of previous episodes revealed something quite interesting. They showed Phyllis and Jack in the elevator when she gave birth to Summer. This is the first time the CBS daytime drama has gone back that far in time. Some viewers believe this indicates that the former spouses might eventually get back together. Josh Griffith, the executive producer of the show said he brought Michelle Stafford back because he had a vision in mind. He also stated that he wants to bring back the glory days in Genoa City. Could the shot of the birth of Nick's daughter be a clue of the direction things are headed? On Summer's birthday she received a text from her former step dad/ father in law that said, I love you. This may mean nothing but when you put it together with everything else, viewers are forming their own opinions.

During the last few months, Phyllis has been a wild card and unable to settle herself down. She spent enormous amounts of time chasing Adam all over Genoa City and even to Los Vegas. She then began focusing on Chance Chancellor and annoying him every opportunity she got. Next, Ms. Summers set out to find out details regarding the secret that Victor's youngest son and Jill's grandson are hiding, related to Vegas. For the past few weeks, Phyllis has been flirting with Nick, and making suggestive comments. She balked,, however, when Adam suggested she get Nicholas into bed, so that he can get back together with Chelsea.

Phyllis was so upset at what her partner in crime suggested that she almost spilled the beans to Jack. The former spouses spent quite a bit of time together which has fans wondering what will happen next. It's pretty clear that neither Chance, nor Adam is romantically interested in the fiery red head and Nick only has eyes for Chelsea at this time. Jack seems exasperated with his ex but it's not clear what she is thinking. Adam told Phyllis that her eyes betrayed her feelings for Nick, but she was horrified at the Newman bad boy's indecent proposal. She was so rattled that she is considering telling all to Nicholas.

It's possible that Ms. Summers may take some time and consider her options. She may eventually decide to seduce Summer's dad, as Adam suggested. On the other hand Jack and his former spouse may find themselves getting cozy again, which no doubt would infuriate Adam. There is just no way at this point to figure out what Phyllis will do, but viewers know she will not remain in limbo long. She had a nice time drinking with her daughter on Summer's birthday and expressed her concern about Kyle and Theo. She even teased that she saw her daughter in the Jabot CEO position some day. Summer needs her mom right now, and it's great they are bonding. Josh Griffith did not however, promise Y&R viewers a maternal Phyllis. He said she would rise like a phoenix from the ashes and wreak havoc.

Michelle Stafford's character is at her best when she has her back against the wall and is scheming. Viewers are waiting to see which man Phyllis will sink her claws into and it seems the two contenders right now are Nick and Jack. The opening scene showing Summer being born might indicate Jack will get back with his ex spouse or it could have been inserted just for posterity. There is always the chance that it is only a red herring to send fans of The Young and the Restless looking in a wrong direction. Josh Griffith may have a vision of Phyllis with Jack or Nick or he may have something different in mind.

Griffith and his writing team have been keeping Billy far away from his brother's former wife. It's evident they don't desire to travel down that road again and most fans agree. Billy is gambling, and spending time with Amanda but he and Phyllis rarely cross paths. Eventually some hints will be dropped or Phyllis will come right out and reveal what she is up to. Viewers will continue to speculate regarding which man Phyllis will sink her claws into until she plays her hand.
