Who Wins at Saturday Night Main Event ? Full MSG Card Predictions and Analysis by NWO Sparrow

Cody Rhodes and CM Punk step into the same ring as allies ... but for how long?

Madison Square Garden has a way of turning "just a stop on the tour" into appointment viewing, and WWE's Fanatic Fest Saturday Night's Main Event card is no exception. Four matches, four very different stakes, and at least one finish that could shape the road to SummerSlam. Here's how it plays out.

Danhausen vs. JD McDonagh (w/ Dominik Mysterio) — No Disqualification

On paper, this is a novelty match. In the building, it's going to feel like anything but. Danhausen has built one of the most organic pops in wrestling over the last two years , a cult character who turned "delightfully cursed" into a legitimate box-office draw. Give him a No Disqualification stipulation and a Judgment Day heel to work against, and the ingredients are there for a MSG moment.

The honest read is this feels like a slot that was built for someone else. McDonagh is one of the best in-ring workers on the roster, and spending him on comedy-adjacent chaos instead of a hard-hitting angle is a little bit of a waste of his ceiling. He's earned a real push, not a gimmick detour , and the hope here is that a strong showing in defeat is the thing that finally gets him there.

But this is Danhausen's night. Expect interference, expect chaos, expect a curse-adjacent finish, and expect the loudest pop of the night when he steals the pin. Pick: Danhausen.

Paige and Brie Bella (c) vs. Fatal Influence (Lainey Reid and Fallon Henley w/ Jacy Jayne) — WWE Women's Tag Team Championship

Fatal Influence has been the most consistently compelling act on SmackDown since their debut, and that's not a small thing to say about a faction built around Jacy Jayne's mouth and two hungry rookies with something to prove. If there's a knock here, it's timing , this feels like a program with enough juice to headline a SummerSlam kickoff, not get spent on a Fanatic Fest undercard.

Still, momentum is momentum, and Reid and Henley have been booked like champions-in-waiting for weeks. Pick: Fatal Influence wins the titles, with Paige and Brie Bella getting the rematch clause and a receipt somewhere around SummerSlam season.

Bayley vs. Lyra Valkyria

This is the best-built story in the women's division in a long time , arguably the most detail WWE has put into a program since Jade Cargill and Naomi went at it. The slow-burn heel turn for Valkyria has been drawn with real patience, and it's paying off, she feels dangerous in a way she never did as a babyface.

Bayley, for her part, is the perfect veteran opponent to validate a heel turn like this , she's done it from both sides of the aisle and knows exactly how to make a new heel look like a killer. Pick: Lyra Valkyria, and a star is officially made.

CM Punk and Cody Rhodes vs. Gunther and Sami Zayn

This is the match with the most long-term implications on the card, and the finish almost has to go one way. If Gunther and Zayn are going to matter in the title picture coming out of SummerSlam, they need a marquee win here , losing to the babyface pairing kills the momentum before it starts. Pick: Gunther and Sami Zayn.

The more interesting question isn't who wins , it's what happens between Punk and Rhodes when they lose. A crack in that partnership has been telegraphed for matches like these in the past, and MSG is exactly the kind of stage WWE likes to use for a heel turn reveal. The preference here is simple, let it be Cody. Punk turning has been run back enough times that it's lost some shock value, but a Cody heel turn heading into the Road to WrestleMania 43 has a chance to be the most interesting thing WWE does all year. Either way, expect tension after the bell and a storyline that outlasts SummerSlam.

Final Predictions

  • Danhausen def. JD McDonagh (No DQ)

  • Fatal Influence def. Paige and Brie Bella (c) — new WWE Women's Tag Team Champions

  • Lyra Valkyria def. Bayley

  • Gunther and Sami Zayn def. CM Punk and Cody Rhodes
