Arianne Zucker's lawsuit is causing a buzz

Yesterday it was reported by multiple news outlets that Arianne Zucker who portrayed Nicole Walker on Days of Our Lives had filed a lawsuit against DOOL, Peacock, and Corday Productions. She claims she was wrongfully fired by the Peacock soap when her contract ended. She also claimed that former producer Albert Alarr had inappropriately touched her and other women cast members and that reports to HR were ignored.

Today Soap Opera Digest has revealed that Days of Our Lives released a response to Zucker and their version counters her claims. It looks liek both parties are prepared for a fight but who will win.

“The allegations in Ms. Zucker’s lawsuit are without merit. Corday Productions offered to renew Ms. Zucker’s contract including offering her a pay increase. Rejecting Ms. Zucker’s counteroffer does not constitute retaliation. Complaints about Mr. Alarr’s on-set behavior were promptly investigated. Corday Productions fully cooperated with the impartial investigation and subsequently terminated Mr. Alarr.”

DOOL execs contradict Zucker's claims

Zucker said the series execs would not work with her and did not renew her contract. Her statement seemed to imply that perhaps she was placed on recurring status. Days of Our Lives has taken the stance that they eventually fired Alaar and are saying they offered Zucker a contract but she wanted more. Zucker's litigation says there was retaliation without explaining what the Peacock soap would have been retaliating for.

Days is taking the stance that Alarr was fired so all is well but several female cast members said they had complained for several years before anything was done. DOOL also said that not agreeing to Zucker's demands was not retaliation. Fans are troubled because Nicole is an integral part of a front-burner storyline and will need to be in Salem to get her son back.

Will Nicole be recast?

Fans speculate that the role of Nicole will have to be recast to bring closure to the storyline with baby Jude. Zucker's departure may also explain why Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) and Tate Black (Jamie Mann)were removed from the canvas so quickly. If Holly had not been sent away then how would her mother's absence have been explained?

DOOL tapes about 6 months in advance and Nicole has been missing since January which suggests that Zucker's firing happened late last summer or early fall. Amazingly this was kept under wraps until the lawsuit was filed. Fana wondering when Nicole would return to Salem now has their answer on why she was gone so long.

Who will triumph Zucker or Peacock?

General Hospital viewers know that Ingo Rademacher who played Jasper Jacks on General Hospital sued ABC and Disney and lost. His lawsuit was found to have no merit because his religious exemption from taking the COVID-19 vaccine was from a book he read and not from a recognized religious organization.

Does Zucker actually have a chance to win? Does she have a leg to stand on against the media giant and will she be able to win her job back as she is stating wrongful dismissal? Is there a chance for renegotiation or is there too much bad blood and all is lost?

Are Zucker's claims meritless or is DOOL putting up a smoke screen? Will lawyers from Days of Our Lives triumph as ABC's attorneys did with Rademacher? Be on the lookout for spoilers and updates related to Arienne Zucker, her lawsuit, and the character of Nicole Walker. This is only the beginning of her fight and more information is likely to come so stay tumed.
