Underrated 'Friends' Quotes To Use in Everyday Life

No more "Pivot!"

"Friends" is one of the most popular sitcoms of all time, if not the most popular. It boasts 10 seasons and is filled with countless hilarious and sometimes heartbreaking plot lines. It is insanely quotable, and its fans know this! You can find a number of merchandise options with quotes like, "Joey doesn't share food!", "He's her lobster", and, yes, "Pivot!". While these are great, funny, and pivotal (no pun intended) quotes, there are so many more subtle and accessible quotes in the show that I use in many situations. Here are the top 10 quotes that we should be overusing from "Friends" rather than the ones we use now.

#1o: "That's a lot of information to get in 30 seconds." - Judy Geller

This is one that my sister and I use often, mainly when one of us is talking quickly, spills some gossip, or we just weren't listening. It is said by a supporting character and not one of the main six friends, which makes it a rarity, but it's still relatable.

#9: "Chicken? I could eat some chicken." - Monica Geller

A more perfect quote could not exist when deciding what and where to eat. Any time chicken or a chicken restaurant is mentioned you can count on me to channel bathtub Monica. Throw in a, "ah, ah, Diet Coke", and you're all set. Joey isn't the only one with funny food quotes.

#8: "It's the perfect crime!" - Monica Geller

This particular quote by Monica is so underrated that it doesn't even have a premade photo with text, just this screengrab from a YouTube video documenting the scene. I use this in situations when it doesn't even make much sense just because it feels powerful and final. I highly recommend it.

#7: "This conversation is starting to make me a little uncomfortable." - Ross Geller

The Gellers continue to dominate this list. I think we've all been a little uncomfortable and thought about Ross and his twiddling fingers. The bloopers for this scene are hilarious and it really fits in any awkward situation. Ross should be much more known for his moments like this than, "We were on a break!".

#6: "...again, you're not SPEAKING FRENCH!" - Phoebe Buffay

Credit: Tenor

We all know Joey's famous 'French' "Me poo poo", but I think the funnier line comes from Phoebe suddenly losing it on him. This works more for me than it probably does for other people because I do speak a bit of French (me poo poo), but it can be applied to a multitude of things that don't involve French. Get creative and you'll be yelling this at people in no time.

#5: "I was afraid of that." - Joey Tribbiani

Joey's dramatic reaction to eating the other half of his candy bar and forgetting (even though that wasn't really the case) is perfect for many instances. Any question you ask that yields an undesired answer can be countered with a pouty Joey "I was afraid of that". Much more iconic than "How you doin'?"

#4: "That is brand new information!" - Phoebe Buffay

This particular exclamation by Phoebe is multipurpose. You can use it when something actually is being told to you for the first time and is shokcing, or, like Phoebe herself in the scene, you can utilize it when you know something you shouldn't and are trying to remain lowkey.

#3: "I want to keep one." - Phoebe Buffay "I'm gonna be on the news." - Rachel Green

This is a two for one with both Phoebe and Rachel. Both lines in this scene are equally usuable in day-to-day life. Phoebe's line can be used anytime you want something that you maybe shouldn't have or don't need. As for Rachel's line, this one is appropriate for any questionable opinions or takes from a friend or otherwise, worrying that you may be iterviewed on the news for their crazy scheme.

#2: "Well, what did the police say?" - Chandler Bing

Credit: Tenor

Finally Chandler! This is a perfect sarcastic Chandler line, in response to Ross's sandwich being eaten by someone else, that isn't mentioned as much as it should be. If someone has a complaint or a problem that is minor in the grand scheme of things, you can humble them a bit using this line. Much more playable and subtle than some of the more famous Chandler Bing lines.

#1: "I just want to tell you this, and I think I speak for everyone when I say..." - Ross Gellar

Credit: Twitter

This line is followed by Ross closing the door in Paolo's face but it can be used in any kind of encounter with a widely disliked person or just someone with a disliked comment or opinion. You can end this quote with a closing door like Ross, hanging up a phone call, or simply just turning away from the person and starting a new conversation. A gentle but effective roast.

That brings us to the end of the list of Friends quotes to use everyday, that aren't the usual tired quotes you usually see. I love how each main friend made the list. It goes to show how iconic this show is that there can still be underrated quotes years and years after the ending of it. Try implementing this quirky quips into your vocabulary! I already do, and I think I speak for everyone when I say...
