1. Mask

Mask is a 1985 biographical drama based on the life of Roy L. Dennis (Rocky Dennis). Rocky was a boy who had an extremely rare disorder, called craniodiaphyseal dysplasia, known as CDD or lionitis. This was an autosomal recessive bone disorder that causes the calcium to build up in the skull, disfiguring the facial features and reducing the life expectancy of those suffering with the disorder. The film Mask is directed by Peter Bogdanovich, and stars popular actors/actresses such as Cher, Sam Elliot, and Eric Stoltz. This film has won the Academy Award for Best Makeup, and both Cher and Eric Stoltz won Golden Globe nominations for their performances in this movie.

2. Beyond The Prairie: The True Story of Laura Ingalls Wilder (Part 1 & 2)

If someone told me that I had to pick just one film in all of existence to watch over and over, and I couldn't watch another movie again besides just the one I chose, I would pick this one in a heartbeat.

Both Beyond the Prairie and it's sequel were TV films made for two parts, presenting the later books of Little House on The Prairie series (The Long Winter and The First Four Years). The sequel to Beyond the Prairie also presents the first book to Rose Wilder's book series as well (Little House on Rocky Ridge).

Now, I may be a bit bias.. considering just how comforting I find this film, but I can't help it. This movie holds a place in my heart that I never want to give up. The main reason why I find so much comfort in this tv film made by Lifetime is just how much the actor that plays Almanzo Wilder, Walton Goggins, resembles a man from my childhood who once brought so much joy to my life. This film also stars such actors/actresses such as Richard Thomas, Lindsay Crouse, Haley McCormick, Sky McCole Bartusiak, Tess Harper. Laura Ingalls Wilder is also played by Meredith Monroe, who plays Haley Hotchner in the hit tv show Criminal Minds. Another cameo in the second part of Beyond the Prairie is Cody Linley as Charlie Magnuson, or as some people may know him as, Jake from Hannah Montana. Beyond the Prairie has also received an Emmy nomination for outstanding music composition for a miniseries, movie, or special.

3. Not Another Teen Movie

This movie is one that I grew up on (which I definitely probably should not have considering the context that goes on throughout the film), but I just recently had the realization that the cast of this movie are some of the same people I adore to this day. Chyler Leigh, who plays Lexie Grey in Grey's Anatomy, and Chris Evans, also known as "American's Ass" around the Internet, are two examples. This movie was actually Chris Evans' film debut. Another actress in this film that I've enjoyed in many works is also Jaime Pressly, who stared in the tv shows My Name is Earl and Mom.

This film was made to be a parody of the teen films from the industry. The plot of the movie is mostly based off the movie She's All That; it also pokes fun at movies such as Varsity Blues, 10 Things I Hate About You, Can't Hardly Wait, and Pretty in Pink. The film also makes references to other teenage/college-age films from the 80s and 90s such as Bring It On, American Pie, Cruel Intentions, American Beauty, Never Been Kissed, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Can't Buy Me Love, Jawbreaker, Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, Dazed and Confused, Grease, Lucas, Rudy, and Road Trip.

If you ever wanted a movie to make you or your friends/partners laugh, this is the one for you.

4. 10 Things I Hate About You

This was one of the first movies I saw that probably confirmed I was indeed a teensy bit crooked when it came to my sexuality. The movie starred both Heath Ledger AND Julia Stiles, what was I supposed to do, not gain crushes on the both of them?

This is an American romantic comedy film directed by Gil Junger starring Julia Stiles, Heath Ledger, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Laris Oleynik. The screenplay of this film is a modernization of William Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew. That version was retold in a high school setting where the new student, Cameron, was so smitten with Bianca that he attempts to get the bad boy, Patrick, to date Bianca's sister, Kat, in order to bend himself around Bianca's fathers strict rules when it came to dating.

This film grossed 60 million dollars and received mostly positive reviews by critics. This film were breakthrough roles for Julia Stiles, Heath Ledger, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt; all who were also nominated for may teen-based awards.

5. Speak

Speak is an American independent coming-of-age teen drama from 2004 that was based off the award-winning novel (1999) Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. It stars Kristen Stewart who did absolutely amazing in this film. This movie is about Melinda Sordino, played by Kristen Stewart, who stopped talking after a senior student r*ped her. The film is told through the eyes of Melinda as she overcomes the past of what happened to her. The story is told through Melinda's eyes and works well with her sardonic humor and blunt honesty. This movie was filmed on Showtime and Lifetime in 2005 after premiering at the Sundance Film Festival in 2004. But now you can easily watch it on YouTube (if you don't mind the low quality).
