Thrillers to watch

They will blow your mind

Spectral, a Netflix film

I like thrillers and some horrors except the ones with unnecessary blood and gore and evil. You know those ones that just make you sick to your stomach. I like the suspense and mystery, that’s all. I’m not the biggest fan of slasher movies either. Now if it has a great story line with suspenseful mystery that keeps you wanting more, then great but I’ll go without the gore and blood just for the sake of killing and glorified murder.

Anyway, if you’re reading this, I’ll give you a few of the thrillers that I think are worth watching several times. They have amazing story lines and keep you wondering what it all means. Now my list may not be all of them that I’ve seen or you may disagree if you’ve also seen them but if you think there are better ones, great! But if you haven’t seen these movies, go to the Redbox or Netflix now and watch them. These may or may not be in order from best to worst because like I said, they all are noteworthy.

Number one is Get Out. While this movie has a bit of a racial prejudice vibe to it, it is arguably one of the best thrillers ever. I think it would have been a great film without the race based plot either way, but on to analysis without giving away too much of the movie. This movie is slow and innocent at first but it slowly gets you worked up and guessing as to what is actually happening. The thrills come intermittently and the combination of which gets you wondering what the hell Is happening, when BOOM! It all makes sense and now you’re wondering how the main character will get out of this situation. The way he gets trapped is mind blowing and the roller coaster of emotions begin. You are no longer wondering what’s been happening this whole time. The result of the mind blowing business of the plot goes on for a good portion of the movie on to the end. The suspense kills you all the way to the end. I will say no more. You must watch Get Out. A quick warning however. It is rated R so don’t watch it with your kids.

The next film, a Netflix original, called Spectral, featured in the picture, is a suspense filled movie with the action of war and the mystery supernatural based off a horror. You are left with guessing what this band of soldiers, CIA agent, and engineer are dealing with. It’s something that kills without prejudice, that cannot be killed by weapons, and cannot be seen by the naked eye. They call them Aretari, the lost souls of war. You feel the fear of the soldiers as they try to fight something they can’t see or kill, until they figure out what this is, they are trapped. The ending will blow your mind. I can’t say more without giving up too much of the movie, but trust me, you won’t regret watching Spectral.

Number three and four are both horrors but definitely suspenseful and no unnecessary blood and gore or super evil gut wrenching, make you sick type stuff, unless you have a weak stomach then I don’t know what to tell you. Annabelle and Annabelle Creations are very well made and keeps you at the edge of your seat and scared out of your wits for a great portion of the movies. Of course there’s those moments that seem to plague most horror movies, that moment when you’re like “don’t be stupid!” It’s like “Even a simpleton could make a better decision!” Like “why would you do that?” Kind of moments. But yeah definitely suspense most of the way through to the very end. Of course to get more of the story, you could watch The Conjuring series. Those are pretty great movies as well.

Anyway I’m sure there are more movies but I don’t want you spending all day reading this so HMU if you want more of my opinions on thrillers. Watch “The Fog” horror, medium suspense, the ending will also leave you like, what the heck just happened? I did not expect that.
