Summer's new dilemma on Y&R

Next week on The Young and the Restless there will be a shocking twist to the Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) storyline after Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) receives a strange phone call. She obeys the caller and will go to Chancellor Park to meet the mystery person and there is where she will find her mother Phyllis Summers (Michele Stafford) alive and well. Summer has been grieving hard for her mom and she is not in a good head space right now which is why Phyllis convinces her to do something unethical.

Summer will need reasurng that this is not a dream or a cruel trick and that her mom is actually standing right in front of her. Phyllis will convince her daughter to keep her secret and not tell anyone that she is alive. It's not clear how much of the truth Summer will hear but she will be so elated to have her mom back that she agrees not even to tell her brother Daniel Romalatti (Michael Grazieadei) who is equally devastated to have lost his mother. Summer now knows that Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) did not kill her mom but she will be willing to allow her mother-in-law to remain behind bars in order to help her Phyllis.

Jack is desperate to get Diane out of jail

When the truth comes out there will be no way Summer or Phylis can justify their actions to Daniel, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) or Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). Jack has been begging Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell) and Michael to let him know what he can do to get Diane out on bond. On Friday he said he would pay millions and asked that she get an ankle monitor.

Jack doesn't care what it takes to free the woman he loves and he is frantic to make sure she does not spend any more time locked behind bars. This is why Summer's actions will be the ultimate betrayal and it could lead to the end of her marriage. She was furious with her husband and father in law ad couldn't understand how they could believe Diane was innocent. Summer now knows Diane is innocent but she will go along with whatever scheme Phyllis decides on.

What is the end game for Phyllis?

Phyllis has murdered Jeremy although it was in self-defense and she should have come clean. Instead, she is adding layers to the deception and dragging Summer down with her. How will Summer face Kyle and Jack as she watches their anguish and attempts to set Diane free? Will she continue to bad mouth Diane in order to keep up appearances and keep walking around with that sour look on her face?

Summer couldn't understand how Jack and Kyle could stand by the woman she believed killed her mother. Now she is doing the same but the difference is Phylis is guilty while Diane was framed. This storyline is becoming intriguing and Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) is beginning to realize there are some missing pieces to the puzzle.

Can Kyle and Jack ever forgive Phylis and Summer for betraying them by allowing Diane to remain in jail and what lies will "Red" tell her daughter to get her to remain silent? What is it she is trying to accomplish before everything hits the fan and will Chance or someone else figure it all out before Phyllis can come clean? Could Summer be accused of knowing all along what her mom was up to? Continue watching The Young ad the Restless in order to find out.
