The Young and the Restless Spoiler: The spirit of Christmas comes early to Genoa City

The Newmans try to get along for the holiday season

Monday on The Young and the Restless the atmosphere will be filled with Christmas spirit as a number of Genoa City residents specifically Newmans and extended family will be in the mood for a drama-free holiday and focus on family. There will be 3 generations of Newman men contemplating Christmas and their current situations. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) along with both of his sons and his grandson will be attempting to make the yuletide gay but who knows how long this cease-fire will last?

Sharon is happy to have her family around

At Crimson Lights, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) will have help from her son Noah Newman ( Robert Gibson) with decorating for Christmas, and Mariah Copeland (Cameron Grimes) and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbank) will also be on hand. She mentions that Faith Newman (Raylynn Caster) will be spending the holiday abroad with classmates.

Tessa prematurely tells Sharon that she and Mariah are talking to another expectant mother. Mariah is concerned that things could go wrong like the last time but she does not hold Tessa's slip of the lip against her. Noah is smiling and seems carefree with no thought of either Allie Nguyen (Kelsy Wang) or Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) on his mind.

Nikki schools Victor about Adam

Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) pays Victor a visit and says he wants Chelsea Newman ( Melissa CLaire Egan) and Conner Newman (Judah Mackey) to join the family for Christmas. Victor argues against this but Adam points out the importance of family and his dad eventually gives in. Later he laments to Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and shares his frustration that Adam is working for Jabot.

Nikki wisely tells her husband that Adam wanting to come to the ranch may be the first step in his returning to the family fold. She adds that Victor made the right decision in allowing Chelsea to come along with Conner and Adam. The duo then dances to Christmas music in front of the tree and kiss.

Nick makes plans with Sally

Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) spends time with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and they make love. Nick knows his family wants nothing to do with her so he makes a compromise for the holidays. He tells her he will spend part of Christmas Day with his family and make time for her later and Sally agrees. Victor, Nikki, and Summer Newman (Alison Lanier) have all warned him away from his brother's ex but Nick is drawn to the redhead and for now, has no plans of calling things off.

Christmas in Genoa City

These peaceful resolutions sound good in theory but will they work out? If Chelsea accepts the Newman invitation will Victor be able to resist harassing her and if he is polite will it only be a means to an end to get Adam back at Newman Enterprises? Can Victor get through the day without grilling Nick about Sally and can Adam spend time at the ranch without somehow being offended?

Will Noah bring Allie to his family gathering or will he go to the Abbot home for Christmas? Wherever he ends up there is a chance that Audra might show up to cause problems. It's possible that the serene mood of Genoa City residents on Monday could translate into a Merry Christmas for all and the gloves come off once the holiday is over.
