Adam tries to crush Sally

A preview for The Young and the Restless for the week beginning July 18 is very telling. Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) is shouting at Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) trying to convince her that their relationship is over. Spoilers say he will go so far as to accuse her of being the reason that Victor Newman *Eric Braeden) removed him from the CEO position of the family business.

Sally will listen to the tirade of insults that Adam hurls at her but it does not have the desired effect that he was looking for. Adam told Victoria Newman Amelia Heinle) that he had broken up with Sally and would have nothing to do with her running Newman Media and pleaded with his sister to leave Sally in the top position.

Adam has a game plan but Sally has questions

Sally was home in bed while this exchange was going on as she and Adam had just made love. His intentions are for Ms. Spectra to maintain her position and spoilers indicate he has an ulterior motive. The rumor ill suggests that Adam will help Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) fake his death and frame the Newmans for his murder.

If this is true then Adam would not want Sally anywhere near the fallout so it makes sense that he wants to distance himself from her. Unfortunately for the prodigal Newman, Sally isn't buying his story. She is going to come right out and ask him if this is part of his plan to keep her in her CEO position.

Sally knows Adam loves her and his abrupt about-face has her more curious than crushed. The question is whether or not Adam will cave in and tell her the truth. Last week he said that it was better for Sally not to know what he was planning and if this includes helping Ashland he is correct. On Friday Locke was arrested after disobeying the restraining order and spending time with Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez).

What will Adam and Sally do?

Once he gets out of jail he will be furious with Victor as well as Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) and Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) for enforcing the order and having him arrested. Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Summer Abbott (Alison Lanier) might also be in Ashland's line of fire when he gets out of jail. He will be furious and this could be when he revisits having Adam help him unless the two already had a plan in motion.

Spoilers don't say how Adam and Sally will work this out but there are basically two ways this could go down. Adam could admit the truth and ask for Sally's silence and the two might still see each other on the sly. This probably will not happen because if he is working with Ashland it will be too dangerous for Sally to get involved.

Changes may be ahead

Adam probably will stand his ground and stick to his story which will infuriate the redhead. She will be angry that he did not trust her enough to discuss what he was up to and did not include her in his initial plans. Sally could become so angry that she walks away from Adam and Newman Media because spoilers tease that Kyle and Summer might turn to her when Chelsea turns them down.

The Young and the Restless has been teasing the viewers with situations that appear to be going in a certain direction and then they shift. Chelsea appeared to be going to accept the offer from Kyle and Summer but instead wants to work with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson on his PodCast. Some viewers thought Saly would automatically be kicked out of Newman Media and who would ever think that Summer and Kyle would consider her but now they are. Keep watching to find out what happens next with Sally and Adam and whether or not she accepts Skyle's offer.
