Diane saves the day

Friday on The Young and the Restless Diane Jenkins (Cynthia Walters) made a decision that will cause Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) to appreciate her. Summer Newman (Alison Lanier), Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc,) and possibly Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) should all be grateful but the opposition against her continues to gain momentum.

Diane sent a text to Michael alerting him that Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) was visiting with Harrison Locke Newman (Kellen Enriquez) in the park in spite of a restraining order against him. Locke is going to jail and Diane is responsible for setting him up. She has been trying to prove that she really desires to do better and Summer. Kyle and Michael are willing to give her a chance.

Opposition against Diane is growing

Meanwhile, Phyllis is adding members to the "Let's run Diane out of town club." Summer was shocked last week as her mother and grandmother plotted against Diane right in front of her considering the two women cannot stand each other. Spoilers for next week indicate that a third Genoa City woman will join in the fight to protect everyone from Kyle's mother.

Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) will declare that she and Nikki and Phyllis must get Diane out of Genoa City. Kyle's aunt, his mother-in-law, and his wife's grandmother are going to formulate a plan to make Diane leave town. While they are plotting Ms. Jenkins will be ingratiating herself to Kyle and Summer who will be thrilled at her part in getting Ashland in jail.

Who will come out on top?

Many who watch The Young and the Restless agree with Nikki, Phyllis, and Ashley that Diane has not changed and it's only a matter of time before she brings destruction to those she claims to love. No matter what she does Phyllis and her crew will never accept that Diane can ever change.

This puts Summer in a tight spot because she is watching Diane go out of her way for Kyle and Harrison and doesn't understand why others will not give her a chance. Both Nikki and Phyllis are angry with Michael who say his friend deserves forgiveness just like everyone else. Victor will be happy that Kyle's mom played her role in putting Ashland behind bars but he probably still does not trust her.

Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) is on the fence and says he will not interfere with Kyle getting to know his mother. Even so, he will more than likely admire the way Diane is ingratiating herself to his son. Summer heard what her mom and grandma are saying but she is seeing a different side of her mother-in-law.

If this tug of war continues then battle lines will be drawn with all of Genoa City either supporting Diane or trying to run her out of town on a rail. Even though she assisted in getting Ashland arrested Ashley, Nikki, and Phyllis are not going to give her a pass. A day of reckoning will come where one of two things will take place.

Everything depends on what the writers had in mind when Susan Walters was brought back to the CBS soap. Diane's path has already been mapped out and viewers can only follow the trail and see where it leads as things move along..

Either Kyle's mother really is trying to turn her life around and those who are attacking her will make fools of themselves or Ms. Jenkins is indeed fooling everyone and she will be exposed which will break Kyle's heart. Be on the lookout for updates and spoilers related to this conflicting yet entertaining storyline on The Young and the Restless.
