Eric Braeden ready to resume taping

Spoiler alerts from Soap Dirt are revealing that The Young and the Restless is embarking upon additional changes in order to comply with COVID-19 regulations. In addition to frequent testing, using hand sanitizer, and shorter workdays, Y&R will now be filming more outdoor scenes in order to assure social distancing. Eric Braeden who portrays Victor recently shared this news with his social media followers. Fans have been cautioning the soap vet for weeks to be careful because of his age. The 79 - year old actor however is determined to prove he can handle the current situation and keep going.

Braeden announced that the cast had no contact with makeup artists and the crew as filming resumed. He added that by utilizing outdoor scenes, viewers will be looking at a lot more of Chancellor Park and the Newman stables. There may also be scenes with people sitting outdoors in front of the Coffee House or Crimson Lights. Another big change is that the cast is dressing will be dressing their own selves and doing their own hair and makeup. Viewers will no doubt be eagerly awaiting to see how their favorite actors turn out based on using their own personal skills. During the sheltering in place, Eric Braeden, Joshua Morrow, and Christian LeBlanc all went with th3e rugged unshaven look, and LeBlanc's hair had turned gray indicating he was not able to get a dye job. Viewers will now see what these men are capable of when they have no choice but to do it themselves.

Eric Braeden is a testimony to the fact that adverse situations can be overcome so perhaps the rest of the cast will have the same attitude. It was initially stated that actors over age 65 would not be allowed on the set right away, but Braeden took a page from the book of his character Victor Newman. The 40-year soap vet said that older actors should be able to sign a waiver saying they take full responsibility for themselves and be allowed to work. Nothing official has been stated to confirm this is what took place but Victor is indeed in the first new scenes. Spoilers have also indicated that Sharon, Nick, Adam, and Chelsea will also be on hand in the initially new episodes. One rumor is that Victor will have to help Adam accept that he murdered AJ Montalvo. Spoilers have also teased that Adam will find out that Sharon has breast cancer and the two of them will grow closer.

It's being suggested that Adam and Sharon will get back together, which will cause Rey to leave Genoa City. This is also supposed to send Nick and Chelsea back into each other's arms. Eric Braeden did not et anything slip about the storyline but did make sure his fans knew that he is on the set. Recent upswings in coronavirus cases might cause more delays, but Eric Braeden is more than ready for any challenge. He has been sharing on Facebook and Twitter how he has been working out and climbing a lot of stairs. In one post he referred to himself as a "stubborn old bastard." The actor even told his fans that taking the test for COVID-19 was no big deal, although others have complained that it is painful and invasive.

In the meantime, classic episodes will continue and The Young and the Restless will observe a week of "Back by popular demand" on July 20-25. On Monday viewers will see the very first episode of the CBS daytime drama followed by the second. Soap operas were only 30 minutes in those days so the two shows will run back to back to complete the hour. On Tuesday the episode where Jeannie Cooper's rea- life plastic surgery was shown will air. Katherine Chancellor decides to obtain a few nicks and tucks so that her portrayer's real-life surgery could be aired. I remember this episode and did not like it very much.

Make sure to tune in next Monday for the first two episodes ever of The Young and the Restless. If you don’t want to see Jeannie/Katherine’s surgery then skip Tuesday. Be on the lookout for updates, breaking news, and spoilers that reveal when the first new episodes will be available or warn of any delays. Follow Eric Braeden on Facebook and Twitter because he keeps his fan base fully informed. Keep in mind that other older actors may not desire to take the same risks as Braeden. For this reason, you may not see Jack, Jill, or Dina in Genoa City for a while. Hang in there because we are closer than ever before to seeing new programming on the air.
