Davidson's fans are loyal

Fans desire change

THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS fans of Doug Davidson are very loyal and have one question right now. "What in the world is wrong with the powers that be?" When Mal Young was head writer and turning Genoa City upside down, he was fired and cast members who had left the show returned. A number of those who watch the CBS daytime drama have been complaining about Josh Griffith and yet he remains in charge.

For several years ardent fans have been bombarding Y&R with pleas to bring back 40-year veteran Doug Davidson but they have been ignored. A recent rumor developed that indicated that Davidson's character Paul Williams will return to Genoa City and rescue Marriah copeland but the actor replied "Not true." Everyone is wondering how the complaints of the viewing audience continue to be ignored and a man who has been a fan favorite for 4 decades has been treated so badly.

Jos Griffith comes under fire

Some fans of THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS want to know why Josh Griffith has been allowed to do what Mal Young was not? Not everyone who watches the CBS soap feels the same way about each character and that is understandable. A majority of those who enjoy the soap are, however, in agreement that Doug Davidson should never have been fired. The GCPD is never shown anymore and Rey Rosales is always working in the field. Kevin Fisher returned last week and made a reference to going back to the police department but he must have done so off-camera.

Davidson deserves better

Doug Davidson was a beloved member of the cast of THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS and Paul Williams is a legacy Genoa City resident. Nothing has been reported about Doug Davidson being difficult and his social media comments are always respectful. At times Davidson has tried to calm irate fans whose comments tend to become over the top. There is no rhyme or reason for why Davidson's history on the show and his character's standing is being ignored. Josh Griffith has yet to address the millions of viewers who have demanded answers regarding Paul Williams.

Ignoring legacy characters

The ABC soap recently added an enture family for Amanda Sinclair and brought Asland and Tara Locke to Genoa City. Long-time characters like Michael, Lauren. Kevin, Gloria, and Chloe do not get much airtime. Those who watchh THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS have not seen Michael and Lauren's home in quite a while and no one even knows where Kevin and Chloe are living since they left the Chancelor Estate.

Gloria was gone for more than a year and came back for one episode months ago. She is back now but no one knows for how long. Christine only shows up to give updates regarding Chance once in a blue moon and Paul is simply non existant. Doug Davidson has told his social media followers several times that he believes his time on THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS is over. It's not clear how the rumor got started that he was coming back to look for Marriah but for those who love him it sounds like a great idea.

Fans want action

Viewers have been calling for Josh Griffith to be fired but so far he remains and Paul Williams as not returned. Be on the lookout for updates to this situation because tey are sure to come as long as there are loyal fans. One thing that is certain is that THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS fans are saying they are tired of how long this Marriah storyline has gone on without any clue of who kidnapped her. Viewers want this case to be solved and wit Rey wasting time questioning Adam, Paul or someone else surely is needed in Genoa City to run the police department.
