Y&R fans are concerned about Chance Chancellor

Fans of The Young and the Restless are wondering what the writers are doing with Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) and some seem ready to give up hope on the character. First, they fired Donny Boaz and had Chance missing for a year and by the time he returned he had missed the birth of his son Dominic Chancellor (River and Rain Ware) and he seemed to have a difficult time adjusting to life in Genoa City.

Those who watch The Young and the Restless are saying on social media that Chance does not have the skills to be a detective because of the way he was fooled by Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) regarding the Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) case and now he is on the wrong track again with Phylis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Jeremy Stark ( James Hyde).

Stark framed Diane Jenkins ( Susan Walters) for murdering Phyllis who is very much alive but now in a twist of fate "Red" has stabbed her new husband to death with Scissors. Spoilers say CHance will find Jeremy's bloody body but how long will it take him to solve the case and free Diane who probably will not make bail because she is a flight risk. Some fans have said that if messing up is all that Chance is good for then they should've kept him MIA.

Y&R did not develop Phillip Chancellor IV upon his return

There was such a big buildup for the return of Phillip Chancellor IV and now many who watch The Young and the Restless feel that the character is a big letdown. The hero returned home only to find Abby Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) cheating on him with Devon Hamiton (Bryton James). Fans were stunned when Chance just walked away and did not really confront his wife and the bio dad of his son. Now the detective does not even spend time with the child he wanted so much.

At one point it had looked as if Chance might begin a romance with Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) but nothing has come of it. There really does not seem to be a place for this character in Genoa City and he is not ever shown at the PCPD. The Young and the Restless retired Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) and sent the character to Peru so technically Chance does not even have a boss.

Is there hope for Conner Floyd's character?

Perhaps the detective can be redeemed if he figures out that Phyllis is still alive and that she killed Jeremy but not many Y&R viewers believe he will do so. Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) is furious that Chance is not seeing that Stark set his mother up and on Monday he tells him to leave Summer Newman Abbott(Allison Lanier) alone. Chance is encouraging Summer to believe Diane murdered her mother and this is causing friction in her marriage.

A nice twist to the storyline would be if Chance fell in love and married someone who found out she was carrying his child. This way he could allow Abby and Devon to raise Dom as their own and he would not look like an uninterested father. There presently are no available young women in Genoa City of childbearing age except Audra Charles and she is busy stirring up trouble at Newman Enterprises but the writers could always bring someone new into the equation. equation

Will Chance remain an outsider looking in and unable to solve cases in Genoa City or will the writers develop the character and send him in a new direction? Be on the lookout for spoiler alerts, updates, and breaking news from The Young and the Restless related to what comes next for the detective,
