When are we going to travel back in time today?

Traveling its way into theaters in 2009, The Time Traveler’s Wife is a film adaptation based on the book written by Audrey Niffenegger. Henry has a gene that involuntarily makes him travel back in time. Despite this issue, Clare and Henry fall in love. Learning to work with the complications, they discover the consequences of examining into the future.

Movies about time travel are always my favorite. The Time Traveler’s Wife is an exceptional film. I fell in love with the story. If you had the ability to time travel would you do it? Enjoy life for what you have.

Henry Bena did not have an easy role. I have never seen Bena in other films. He was excellent. He had to explore contrasting versions of Henry from different time periods. Because he disappears, traveling into another time period, the conclusions lead to embarrassing scenes. As he comments, time-traveling makes you crazy.

Rachel McAdams impresses me with the depth that she captures in every role. She does an impressive job of playing Clare at different ages. That and McAdams has astounding emotional ranges. Refusing to listen to others about the consequences of marrying Henry, Clare’s persistence is a trait to admire.

The loving relationship between Henry and Clare is the best part of the story. They explored the depths of their relationship. Their relationship is a lesson to all couples that you can work through issues in order to have a healthy relationship. Not all relationships have happy moments. They have to manage Henry’s abrupt time-traveling adventures.

Running into some frustrations, which I thought were genuine, they never stop loving each other. Bena and McAdams worked closely with one another signifying a genuine relationship.

The Time Traveler’s Wife was well cast. Other credits include Ron Livingston, Michelle Nolden, Brooklyn Proulx, Hailey McCann, Arliss Howard, and Tatum McGann. There is also a memorable appearance by Stephen Tobolowsky.

The cast does a thorough job in their interactions, adding to the story. Instead of the film revolving only around Henry and Clare, the writers made a good choice to include little moments for secondary characters to stand out. I liked exchanges between Henry and Alba (McCann).

The Time Traveler’s Wife presented an intriguing and heartfelt story. Robert Schwentke shined in his direction of key moments, preferably in his approach to time travel. You never know where Henry is going to time travel to next. With his approach to the story, and how he directed the actors, sequences were emotionally driven.

Schwentke did not have to explain the time travel. That’s what I am thankful for. We don’t need to understand the science behind time travel which is what some movies decide to go into depth about. Instead, he paid a major focus to the meaning of relationships. Metaphorically, we are never apart.

It does take time to get the feel of the story. You really have to pay attention to what is going on because it is easy to miss the slightest detail. Once you get used to the story, it’s a surprise around each corner.

Be aware that The Time Traveler’s Wife is an emotional story. Still, be prepared for some comedic moments like when Henry travels out of nowhere. Henry had to go through a lot of wardrobe changes, that’s for sure. Yes, those scenes lead to humorous conclusions.

I could watch The Time Traveler’s Wife over and over. The film is a heartfelt story with charm. It’s not a movie to pinpoint scientific theories. Go enjoy The Time Traveler’s Wife.
