The tangled web of the relatives of Spencer Cassadine on General Hospital

Spencer's mountain of relations in Port Charles

Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chaves) has been presumed dead on General Hospital because the actor is filming a role as Lyle Menendez for the Netflix series Monsters season 2. He will return in a few months and in the meantime Port Charles will mourn his loss.

Let's take a look at the players in this saga who have connections to "Spence" who might be connected by blood or marriage to practically all the key players on the soap.

Dominic Zampragna (Dante Falconeri) released an image of himself with castmates Kelly Monaco (Sam McCall) and Kate Mansi (Kristina Corinthos Davis) on the Wyndamere set and they are wearing black. They are all Spencer's cousins so this could be for some type of memorial service.

The knarled family tree

When you look at the family tree Spencer is double related to these 3 and others through blood and also marriage. Spencer's mom Courtney Matthews (Aleisha Lee Willis) is the sister of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) who is the father of Kristina and Dante which makes them paternal cousins.

Laura Collins is Spencer's grandmother and also Dante's former mother-in-law. Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlette Fernandez) is Lulu Falconeri's (Emme Rylan) daughter which makes her Spencer's cousin and connects Dante and Spencer on the other side of the family.

Valentin Casssadine (James Patrick Stewart) is Charlotte's father and cousins with Alexis Davis (Nacy Lee Grahan) who is the mother of Sam, Kristina, and Molly Lancing Davis (Kristen Vagano) whose father Rick Lancing (Rick Hearst) is Sonny's half brother and Spencer's step-uncle.

The connections continue

Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) was Laura's niece through marriage when she was with Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) which gives Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Spencer a connection. Carly's daughter Donna Corinthos (Scarlett Spears) with Sonny is Spencer's cousin as is Avery Corinthos (Celesta DeAstis) whose mother is Ava Jerome (Maura West) who was Spencer's stepmom while married to his dad Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss).

Cameron Webber (Will Lipton) is Laura's adopted grandson through Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) and he and Spencer consider themselves cousins. Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) and Martin Grey (Michael E Knight) are Laura's half-brothers making them uncles of the not so dearly departed.

The family ties are broadened

It's interesting that since Chaves took over the role Spencer has not been spending any time with most of these relatives. He has been spending all of his time with Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl), Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay), and Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) and her family.

Unless I missed something the Quartermaines are the only family that he does not have ties to unless you count Sam's son children Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) and Scout Cain (Cosette Abinante) who are Spencer's cousins and their father are Alan Quartermaine's (Stuart Damon) sons Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and Jason Morgan ( Stee Burton).

There will be clues

During his memorial service, there will be a lot of people expressing how they felt about him but in recent years he did not interact with his relatives. Nikolas has returned to Port Charles with Ace after hearing the news that his son died. This suggests that it will not be Prince Nik who rescued Spencer so who will find him and care for him until his return?

General Hospital has given one clue and that was the camera panning in on Spencer's turtle dove. Cyrus gave him two of them and Trina has teh other. it was shown on teh grass suggesting Spencer made it to dry land but there is no clue where he is at this time.
