Tanner Novlan’s days were numbered on The Bold and the Beautiful

At the end of Friday’s episode of The Bold and the Beautiful Sheila Carter ((Kimberlin Brown) tried to shoot Steffy Forrester (Jackie Wood) but John Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) intervened and Sheila murdered her own son. While this is a stunning turn of events not everyone is shocked or surprised. B&B execs said there would be something to take place that fans would not like but Finn's exit was expected.

From the moment Finn and Steffy began dating there were viewers counting down until Finn was out and Liam Spencer ( Scott Clifton) was in the picture yet again. There is also the fact that the writers never developed Novlsn’s character and he has been off-screen more than on during the past month.

Tanner Novlan deserved better than he got

The handwriting was on the wall and there have also been rumblings for the past week that the actor was leaving, Ironically Novlan’s Liberty Mutual television commercials which showcase his comedic side have resurfaced and are being shown on a regular basis. As Finn, the actor never stood a chance with the regulars on B&B but no one expected Sheila to take him out.

B&B fans assumed the love triangle between Steffy, Liam and Hope Spencer ( Anika Noelle) would cause Finn to run for the hills and naturally were blindsided by this turn of events but again finding out Novlan has written out was no surprise. There was so much more that could have been done with Finn but revealing Sheila as his birth mother was the biggest nail in his coffin. There just was nowhere to go with this storyline

Those who watch The Bold and the Beautiful know that Ms. Carter always goes out with a bang and either runs away, ends up hospitalized or is arrested. She has now killed her own son and Steffy's fate is in her hands. Jackie Woods will soon be going on maternity leave so perhaps Sheila won’t kill her but take her hostage until she can think things out.

Jackie Woods will soon exit to give birth

B&B will have to come up with a way to explain Steffy’s absence once Wood goes on maternity leave. There have been no rumors that the actress is leaving the CBS soap so hopefully, Steffy will not die. Should she survive she will naturally mourn her husband but eventually gravitate back to Liam which is not what fans want to see.

This situation is horrific and there are many possible directions things could go in. This is sad on so many levels because B&B could have taken the high road where John Finnigan is concerned. The writers bring new people on for a season but the core group remains the same.

B&B love triangles anger fans

Those who watch the CBS soap are overwhelmingly against the recurring love triangle between Ridge Forrester ( Thorsten Kaye). Brooke Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lange) and Taylor Hayes ( Krista Allen) yet it has picked up again and in time the same will be true for Liam, Steffy, and Hope. Viewers were holding out for Steffy and Finn to beat the odds but deep down knew it would not last.

Best of luck to Tanner Novlan in his future endeavors and may his next job fully utilize his talents. Shame on The Bold and the Beautiful for not taking the time to give Finn quality material and leaving Steffy vulnerable and alone.t. Be on the lookout for updates and breaking news related to what comes next for Steffy and Sheila.
