The Bold and the Beautiful: Brooke and Taylor are not believable as new besties who dumped Ridge

Fans believe it's only a matter of time until old patterns return

Is it real or only a moment in time?

Thursday on The Bold and the Beautiful Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen) and Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) finally did what fans say should have happened decades ago. They dumped Ridge Forrester ( Thorsten Kaye) and said they choose themselves. On Friday they continued with a celebration by drinking and giving each other a high five.

Many fans of The Bold and the Beautiful are skeptical that these two enemies are now besties and have washed their hands of the man they have loved for so long. The women vowed to never fight over Ridge again and they each lavished compliments on the other. They apologized to one another and began eating cake after saying Ridge would never come between them again.

Steffy and Hope are baffled

Meanwhile, Steffy Forrester (Jackie Wood) and Hop Spencer (Anika Noelle) became worried when their cell phones indicated that both of their moms were at Brooke's house so off they went assuming there was trouble. They arrived just as their mothers had cake in their hands and thought they were going to fight again. Brooke and Taylor went on to explain that Ridge did not choose either of them but they made the choice to walk away from him.

The Bold and the Beautiful will probably allow this newfound friendship to go on for a while considering that Steffy and John Finnegan (Tanner Novlin have lasted longer than anyone believed. Perhaps Brad Bell and his team are finally listening to the fans and are stopping the decades-long love triangles.

Taylor and Brooke emphasized to Steffy and Hope that they don't need Ridge to be happy but what happens when they come down from this new high? Will they move on with other men or live life as single women? Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) and Dollar Bill Spencer are both eager to reunite with Brooke and now that Sheila Carter ( Kimberlain Brown) appears to be out of the picture Deacon may pursue the mother of his daughter.

Dollar Bill and Katie in the midst of the mess

Dollar Bill invited Katie Spencer (Heather Tom) over on Thursday and professed his love for her but Katie reminded him that he said her sister was the great love of his life. She told Bill that he was reckless with everything they built together and he tried to get her to understand that he made bad decisions and begged her to return to him. Hopefully, Katie will stick with Carter and on Monday tell Dollar Bill to hit the road if she is thinking clearly.

Once Bill finds out that Brooke is free and especially if he hears that Deacon pursuing her he will drop Katie quickly unless she dumps him first. Tayor and Brooke amazed their daughters when they told them what happened and when Steffy and Hope left the room the two women hugged and called each other friends.

The Bold and the Beautiful fans have been wrong thus far about Steffy returning to Liam and now the two seem to be bonding over their mothers' decision. Perhaps the writers will keep this new wrinkle with Brooke and Taylor going for a while as well. The main thing fans will be watching for is to see what Ridge will do. Will he accept that these women are tired of his toying with their affections and leave them alone or will he try to win one of them back and start their rivalry all over again? Be on the lookout for spoilers and updates to reveal what happens next.
