The Arrowverse Characters Who Need Their Own Series

So many characters are being underused

The Arrowverse has been the home to many fabulous characters, some of which haven't had nearly enough screen time. It's not that the writers didn't try to do their best by them, it's simply that there is a limited amount of time for the story to unfold per episode.

Fortunately, some of these characters, like Superman and Lois Lane, are getting their own series, and fans are looking forward to the introduction of the new lives of the superhero and his journalist wife. But Superman isn't the only hero who has been a part of the Arrowverse, and certainly not the only one who deserves for his story to unfold on the small screen. Here are three characters from the Arrowverse I think could carry their own show easily!

Mr. Terrific as played by Echo Kellum

Echo Kellum as Mr. Terrific

Arrow introduced Curtis Holt, the geeky computer guru who worked for Palmer Tech, in Season 4. Gradually, he found his way into the superhero's bunker and joined Team Arrow as Mr. Terrific. And his presence gave fans a weekly dose of humor and overall geekiness that the show needed.

Curtis Holt's one-liners and interaction with his fellow team members were often bright spots in the dark episodes. Yes, there were episodes where he wasn't one of the favorite characters, especially the whole Team B arc, but overall, Curtis delivered just what Arrow needed.

Now that the series has wrapped, there is a void for his character in the Arrowverse. No other geeky character headlines a DC show on The CW, and with his brand of humor, creativity, and fascination with all things tech, Curtis could be a much-appreciated addition to Arrowverse. And Curtis always had a bit of difficulty seeing himself as a true hero so watching his ascension to a superhero on his own would make for an enjoying ride!

Ray Palmer (The Atom) and Nora Darhk

Courtney Ford and Brandon Routh as Nora Darhk and Ray Palmer

Ray Palmer began his journey on Arrow when he bought out Queen Consolidated, turning it into Palmer Tech. Totally enraptured with all things tech, he created the ATOM suit which enabled him to become the superhero he always wanted to be. The character then moved to DC's Legends of Tomorrow, adding intelligence, kindness, compassion, and a goofy sense of humor...just what the series needed from the start.

Falling in love with Nora Darhk, the daughter of the evil Damien Darhk, might have been a bad decision for some other guy, but not for Ray. And the pair became a much-loved fan favorite, both adding a unique combination to the series...until they were written off in Season 5. Which leaves Ray and Nora without a home and desperately needed back on television.

A series starring these two battling evil would be campy fun, romantic, and action-packed, especially once the kids started coming along. It would be a breath of fresh air to watch this couple navigating home life and facing up to danger. Throw in an occasional appearance by a very dangerous father-in-law, and this show could really zing.

Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold

Technically, Captain Cold would be a fourth character, but how could he not be included in this list with all his sarcastic glory?

Wentworth Miller played this villain turned legend like a finely-tuned piano, surprising viewers with the warmth of his heart underneath his cold exterior. He might have come across as unfeeling and only out for himself, but he often showed just how much he really cared for others.

Though he died on Legends of Tomorrow, he has been resurrected in alternate universes, and now that they are all combined (thanks Crisis on Infinite Earths), it wouldn't be difficult to explain why Leonard Snart is alive and well on Earth. A series showcasing his struggles making the right decisions and being a reluctant hero has great potential. And his one-liners were right up there with Gregory House (House, M.D.) who we miss desperately!

While the chance of any of these getting made into actual television shows are minuscule at best, fans have gotten what they've wanted when they've let their voices be heard. When Tyler Hoechlin first appeared as Superman on Supergirl, fans started clamoring for him to have his own show. For quite some time, that was deemed an impossibility. Now, it's happening. And while the decision certainly didn't belong to the fans, we'd like to think that the powers-that-be saw there was interest in such a series and gave it the go-ahead.

It would be a shame for any of these characters to fade into oblivion after their tenure on our television screens, especially since the actors made them unforgettable enough for the fans to care. It might be a long shot to hope these series would come to fruition, but some things are worth hoping for.
