My Review of "300"
300 is an epic action movie based on a graphic novel. The movie came out back in 2006 and I remember loving this back in the day. I wasn't sure how I'd appreciate it now so many years later but I was hoping it would still shine. In some ways, I still enjoyed it as I did so many years back but I also see some issues.

My Review of "Speed Racer"
Speed Racer is a movie made in 2008, based off a popular kids cartoon from the 1960s. I haven't ever really seen the original cartoon so a lot of the nuances and throwbacks that they have in this movie are lost on me. Even though I haven't seen the cartoon, this is probably how I would have expected a live adaptation version would have been realized. This movie looks like it's for kids but the way it plays out doesn't exactly feel like it.

That could be said for every category because of the astonishing effects of the duel strike last year, there really aren’t that many new films this year at all. Rebel Moon Part 2
So I really hated Rebel Moon. It was a perfect example of all the reasons why Zach Snyder is a terrible filmmaker. I love Gail Simone and I know that she liked it but even geniuses make mistakes. Rebel Moon was terribly paced, hollow and a cheap Star Wars rip off made by someone who doesn’t understand even the most basic of filmmaking structures and techniques. The slow motion is tired and overused and I would love to dare him to write just one character with some depth to them. Anyway he is so incapable of storytelling that he can’t contain his shitty original ideas to 2 hours so we all have to endure a second part to this garbage. So here we go, Rebel Moon part 2…

Tarot
I am a huge horror movie fan but only in the fall. I think releasing horror films into theaters any other time of the year inherently sets them up for failure. But then they get put on streaming services where I can enjoy them at my leisure so here we are. Netflix now houses Tarot, one of the horror films that was needlessly released earlier this year. My bar for horror films is pretty high so let’s see how this compares.

Love Lies Bleeding
We have talked about the rise in lesbian media and how it is greatly appreciated and deeply necessary. Among those new titles are Love Lies Bleeding, one of the newest A24 films. Now I knew I wanted to see this movie, because ya know representation. But I will also have to wrestle with the fact that I am really not a fan of Kristen Stewart. As a person or as an actress. She did work with Woody Allen which is already a big, huge red flag. And honestly I just don’t think she’s that talented. She peeked at Twilight. All that said, I am finally watching it, so let’s get into it.
