Villainess Review: Alison (Secrets of an Escort)
Double lives always seem to play a role in these Lifetime films, and this fan wouldn't have it any other way. In the case of the film, Secrets of an Escort (aka The Other Me), it is Connie Anderson, a divorced mother of daughter Christine, who is in this role after moving with Christine to Hawaii. Waitress by day, escort by night--the latter under the name, Veronica, and being done to make ends meet.

Q-ell BettonPublished 2 years ago in GeeksReview of 'A Curse of Roses'
Based on Portuguese legend, this #OwnVoices historical fantasy is an epic tale of mystery, magic, and making the impossible choice between love and duty… With just one touch, bread turns into roses. With just one bite, cheese turns into lilies. There’s a famine plaguing the land, and Princess Yzabel is wasting food simply by trying to eat. Before she can even swallow, her magic—her curse—has turned her meal into a bouquet. She’s on the verge of starving, which only reminds her that the people of Portugal have been enduring the same pain for years. If only it were possible to reverse her magic. Then she could turn flowers into food. Fatyan, a beautiful Enchanted Moura, is the only one who can help. But she is trapped by magical binds. She can teach Yzabel how to control her curse—if Yzabel sets her free with a kiss. As the King of Portugal’s betrothed, Yzabel would be committing treason, but what good is a king if his country has starved to death? With just one kiss, Fatyan is set free. And with just one kiss, Yzabel is yearning for more. She’d sought out Fatyan to help her save the people. Now, loving her could mean Yzabel’s destruction.
Cyn's WorkshopPublished 2 years ago in GeeksReview: "Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin"
The franchise of Paranormal Activity had been on life support after the fourth installment and somehow made it all the way to six before deciding to do a soft reboot with Next of Kin. In a long list of films that had been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, Next of Kin could be added to that list as it originally was scheduled to be in theaters but instead went straight to streaming only on Paramount Plus. That alone could have also been an indication of how little faith the studio had in the film of actually being profitable despite it being a once successful franchise. Looking at the history of soft reboots to a horror franchise, they have rarely been succesful. The attempt to "reboot" this franchise is a modest one at best, being the seventh installment in the franchise it has very little to any kind of connection to the previous six films. In fact, it seems more like it could be connected to the Blair Witch franchise. It seems rather lazy by the studio, and maybe this film was originally conceptualized as a stand alone project that may have not sold well on it's own so they slapped the Paranormal Activity title to it.

Let’s talk about some heat! I dunno what kept y’all warm during the previous holiday season, but Fire Force was definitely the furnace that kept me and my squish-gang warm during these chilly months. Like c’mon. If you haven’t heard of Fire Force, where have you been? Have you been living in the catacombs of the Nether? I think so.

Cyn's WorkshopPublished 2 years ago in GeeksReview of 'The Troubled Girls of Dragomir Academy'
If no one notices Marya Lupu, is likely because of her brother, Luka. And that’s because of what everyone knows: that Luka is destined to become a sorcerer. The Lupus might be from a small village far from the capital city of Illyria, but that doesn’t matter. Every young boy born in the kingdom holds the potential for the rare ability to wield magic, to protect the country from the terrifying force known only as the Dread. For all the hopes the family has for Luka, no one has any for Marya, who can never seem to do anything right. But even so, no one is prepared for the day that the sorcerers finally arrive to test Luka for magical ability, and Marya makes a terrible mistake. Nor the day after, when the Lupus receive a letter from a place called Dragomir Academy—a mysterious school for wayward young girls. Girls like Marya. Soon she is a hundred miles from home, in a strange and unfamiliar place, surrounded by girls she’s never met. Dragomir Academy promises Marya and her classmates a chance to make something of themselves in service to one of the country’s powerful sorcerers. But as they learn how to fit into a world with no place for them, they begin to discover things about the magic the men of their country wield, as well as the Dread itself—things that threaten the precarious balance upon which Illyria is built.
Cyn's WorkshopPublished 2 years ago in GeeksNetflix: Maid
If you haven't heard or been in the world of Netflix recently there is a new Netflix Original called 'MAID'. This is a limited series and let me tell you, I haven't binged a new show in who knows how long. This series kept me on the edge of my seat. A fair warning that there will be slight spoilers ahead just so you know.

Marielle SabbagPublished 2 years ago in GeeksMy Review of "Night Teeth"
Night Teeth is one of the latest offerings from Netflix in 2021. It's an adolescent movie about vampires so luckily it coincided with Halloween. Unfortunately it's not exactly a horror movie. There's maybe one jump scare in the whole movie but there's nothing really to be scared about with this one
Brian AnonymousPublished 2 years ago in GeeksAvatar the Last Airbender is better than Game of Thrones
There are some Game of Thrones spoilers here so... Remember when Games of Thrones was good? Like real good, like when you scrambled to your television waiting to see who got poisoned next by Cersei or who Danny fed to her dragons, hoping with wide innocent eyes to see the bloody conquering of Westeros, only to be sickeningly disappointed by a disaster ending? Let’s face it, the directors got lazy as in astronomically lazy. Sure, Danny stopped for a quick Starbies via drive-through before meeting up with Jonny at the Winterfell after they randomly hooked up in the icy snow. Lazy. Dragons thought it was chill though.
Alyssa CaswellPublished 2 years ago in GeeksReviewing Every Villainess from Season One of "Just Beyond"
R.L. Stine, you've done it again! The family-friendly horror icon who gave us Goosebumps, Fear Street, The Nightmare Room, and The Haunting Hour now gives us Just Beyond, yet another series of books that has been adapted for the small screen! I remember seeing promos for this and as soon as I saw R.L. Stine's name, I said, "Sign me up!"--Stine creates nothing but gold. On October 13, 2021, the entire first season of Just Beyond hit Disney+, and I finally watched the entire eight episode season last weekend. To no surprise, I loved every episode, as well as all of the twists and turns, and have my fingers crossed that we get a second season.
