Will Blade or Ghost Rider appear in the MCU? Doctor Strange introducing magic and the supernatural
2016 is the year for Marvel to shine with their Cinematic Universe reaching great heights. This year we'll see Captain America: Civil War, self-explanatory, and Doctor Strange which will fully integrate the MCU within a realm where magic and the supernatural exist alongside real-world figures. Doctor Strange will most likely showcase Doctor Strange's origin story, but also the first introduction to the world of magic; we've been privy to a small exposure by Scarlet Witch in Avengers: Age of Ultron but nothing like what Doctor Strange will have to offer. Elements of magic are probably going to be the main focus of the film which opens up the MCU to explore other worlds and dimensions that includes the supernatural. The reason the supernatural world could be the next expansion we could see the MCU jumping into is for two reasons. One, Thor:Ragnarok is already expanding into the realm of universe jumping, along with hints to ties with magic; and the other is because the rights to three of Marvel's biggest characters that exist within the realm of the supernatural have just had their rights reverted back so these characters may be introduced within the MCU at some point in their own film. The characters i'm talking about are Ghost Rider, Blade, and Punisher. The Punisher is already being played by Jon Bernthal in the upcoming second season of the Netflix series of Daredevil, but Ghost Rider and Blade have yet to make an appearance in the MCU. The MCU already has a large cast of heroes and villains on their current and upcoming roster, and adding more to that roster would be careless if fans started to forget about certain characters. So adding more characters to the MCU simply because their rights have allowed them to be used in tied in films again is probably a bad move for Marvel which is why it probably won't happen. But if the right set of circumstances come to pass where the magic involved world of Marvel becomes a bigger interest to a larger audience then the introduction of more magic influenced and supernatural characters would definitely be a priority. In that happenstance, a reintroduction to Blade and Ghost Rider as part of the MCU would have die-hard comic fans clamoring for a loyal adaptation of these fan favorite characters. Blade would be harder to adapt to the current setting of the MCU; yes the character could have a place with an adaptable bridge between the vampire world and the everyday world to create a place for Blade but that connection is likely to be far off from now. One character that would be a welcome addition to the MCU is Ghost Rider. The rights for Ghost Rider have reverted back to Marvel and if Marvel sees potential in integrating Ghost Rider into their Cinematic Universe, then Ghost Rider will probably have a wild ride into the MCU. There is no direct connection Ghost Rider could be attached to in the current state of the MCU, but he could appear in future films after the introduction of Doctor Strange. Doctor Strange's involvement in the world of magic could see him cross paths with some unsavory individuals wherein Ghost Rider could appear, seeking out these corrupt souls to satiate his bounty hunter lust, although that's a bit of a stretch. We don't know how in-depth Doctor Strange will delve into the world of magic but if it goes deep enough to where Doctor Strange is opening portals to other dimensions and those portals open to places like hell then it would be possible for Ghost Rider to be one of the characters to appear in Doctor Strange's adventures. Beside the rights reverting back to these characters, Marvel would be smart to invest in exploring these unexplored territories seeing is that their lesser known properties are gaining more interest just for their association and connection to the MCU. For one, Guardians of The Galaxy was an unknown property but turned out to be a big hit. Along with lesser known properties, another Marvel title namely Deadpool was another lesser known name of the Marvel universe until the feature film Deadpool started production. Then that small unknown property became one of the most talked about topics trending on the internet for some time before and still after its release. Trying to duplicate this vast intrigue for Marvel titles is what the MCU is attempting to accomplish by investing so much into their existing characters, and the MCU would garner further interest from more fans if the filmmakers behind the films are willing to experiment by connecting the MCU to lesser known areas of the Marvel Universe that include the supernatural realm. There is an entire roster of characters within the Marvel Universe that have ties to the supernatural, these characters could all be viable candidates for the MCU to invest in and create a world around them so the supernatural world exists alongside the everyday human world which exists alongside Thor's magic oriented world as well. These interconnected worlds are why fans are so invested in the MCU, and starting another connection between unexplored worlds would be another spark of interest for fans of the MCU. There are probably hints of all these elements existing somewhere within the MCU, they just haven't been shown on-screen yet, if the question was posed to Marvel head Kevin Feige, he'd probably not deny the existence of these characters within the MCU regardless of the fact they haven't been shown on-screen yet.

Captain America: Civil War... Could General Thunderbolt Ross go RED! for Bruce Banner
At the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron, Bruce Banner/Hulk, played by Mark Ruffalo left the Avengers to fly out in a stealth jet by himself. No one really knows what happened to Hulk/Bruce by the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron. Although it appears that Hulk's actions are hinting at Hulk holding some level of intelligence which gives credence to the theory that Bruce Banner and Hulk are beginning to meld their minds to allow Hulk to retain some or all of Banner's intelligence. Hulk was able to close down the HUD screen transmitting to Black Widow, as well as coordinate the stealth-jet in a specific direction after the climax of Age of Ultron which proves that Banner/Hulk are becoming one. If this theory is proven to be true, than we may see Hulk fighting alongside one side in Captain America: Civil War, most likely alongside Captain America in light of his joint philosophies towards privacy and secrecy. Mark Ruffalo isn't scheduled to appear in Civil War but a recent casting slip by a co-star, Anthony Mackie of Captain America: Civil War cited Mark Ruffalo as being cast in the movie. It might have just been the case of a slip-of-tongue but this slip could mean that Mark Ruffalo will be playing Hulk in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War. Regardless of Mark Ruffalo being cast in Civil War, it's William Hurt's inclusion as General Thunderbolt Thaddeus Ross that will have greater impact on the MCU if he fulfills his comic-book destiny. In Marvel Comics, General Thunderbolt Ross is famous for being one of Bruce Banner/Hulk's greatest adversaries. General Ross seeks out a way to duplicate Bruce Banner's Hulk transformation, with some extensive research, General Ross is able to duplicate the Hulk/Banner formula and transforms himself into the Marvel villain, Red Hulk. General Thunderbolt Ross takes on the role of Red Hulk in secret, he doesn't reveal himself to be Red Hulk until he confronts Bruce Banner. Within the MCU, we've only seen General Ross in The Incredible Hulk, and now he's been seen in recent promos for Captain America: Civil War. Going along with the information given away by General Ross' role in Captain America: Civil War, taken from the trailers for the film, General Ross is proposing the Sokovia Accords which mirrors the Marvel movement known as The SuperHero Registration Act, which required all enhanced individuals to register and be held accountable for their actions. If General Ross is indeed proposing The Sokovia Accords, the Sokovia Accords will most likely be brought about based on the Avengers' actions in Avengers: Age of Ultron. That furthers General Ross' involvement in the conflict of Civil War, General Ross has been known to go to extreme lengths to capture Hulk/Bruce Banner in Marvel Comics, if General Ross is indeed playing some part in The Sokovia Accords with the intent to get Bruce Banner to register, General Ross could have an ulterior motive, possibly to duplicate Bruce Banner's Hulk transformation. These are all speculative theories based on General Ross' inclusion in Captain America: Civil War, the MCU could be following General Ross' comic history to replicate his Red Hulk storyline or the MCU could be creating their own interpretation of General Thaddeus Ross. Although William Hurt's portrayal of General Ross hasn't been given much screen time, there is the aspect of General Ross already having a connecting role to the MCU. It was established in The Incredible Hulk, that General Ross meets with Tony Stark in a bar which could have several implications for the whole of the MCU, one meaning that Stark has been sharing information with General Ross since the events of The Incredible Hulk, and the other being that Stark and Ross have been buddies since the events of The Incredible Hulk, and the two will share some allegiance coming up in Captain America: Civil War. In either event, if General Ross is helping Tony Stark in Civil War, then Tony Stark may have an incentive to assist General Ross in duplicating the Hulk formula which would eventually lead to General Ross turning into Red Hulk. General Ross turning into Red Hulk could only fit into so many contexts if he is included in Captain America: Civil War. For one, Tony Stark would have to be facing Hulk on Team Captain America to require the assistance of an equal force to combat Hulk which is where General Ross could come in to be the antithesis for Hulk. And the other context, could be in the circumstance that General Ross has captured Bruce Banner/Hulk after the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron, then submitting Banner to experimentation to duplicate his Hulk transformation, is unable to duplicate the process without Tony Stark's help; General Ross could use Banner's life as a bargaining chip in a deal for Tony to duplicate Banner's transformation. These are two absolutely plausible conclusions for General Ross' return to the MCU, General Ross hasn't made an appearance in the MCU since The Incredible Hulk which means his return was brought on by a significant event in the MCU. The event in question is most likely Hulk's actions in Avengers: Age of Ultron, which would be enough to bring General Ross' attention on Bruce Banner once again. Aside from the speculations and theories, General Thunderbolt Ross will definitely have some part in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War film, let's just hope we get to see another Hulk on the big screen that'll give Bruce Banner a run for his money when it comes to hulking out.

How 'Dead Poets Society' Changed My Entire Outlook on Life
To quote Henry David Thoreau: "All men want, not something to do with, but something to do, or rather something to be." Although Thoreau's words were a bit over my head when I first read them, I remember that I've always been drawn to the writings of much smarter men and women than I. So, while reading books like Walden, A Grief Observed by C.S. Lewis and The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins in my early teenage years, I gleaned wisdom without actually understanding what I was absorbing. It wasn't until later in my life when I first saw the movie Dead Poets Society that I began recalling the words of wisdom that Thoreau had imparted upon me several years earlier.
