Global News HubsPublished 2 years ago in GeeksMy Favorite Jurassic Park Movie: The Lost World.
On May 23rd 1997, The Lost World: Jurassic Park made its world debut and my dad was taking me to the movies to see it. Now at the time I had absolutely no idea what I was about to see, but that didn't matter because the movie was sold out and we weren't able to see it that night, so my dad took me to either Blockbuster or Hollywood video to rent the predecessor to the movie we were supposed to be seeing called Jurassic Park. After watching it a few times that weekend I was hooked. This movie was instantly like the best anything of Dinosaurs I had ever seen, so when my dad told me that the movie we were supposed to be on our way to seeing the night before was actually the second one I was actually looking forward to seeing it, so the next weekend when I came over my dad's house again we actually did get to see it this time and even during this second week the movie was still busy, yet we still were able to see it.

Who hasn't thought of the freedom that would come from dropping out of everyday society. The notion of giving up all the oppressive things in your life and giving yourself over to the open road and the freedom to do literally anything. Fear keeps us from realizing this dream. Fear whispers in your ear and says ``you can't quit your job, what will you do for money?" Fear is quite practical that way.

Growing up in my household, Gangster films were a big deal because my mother loved them to death. I'll never forget the day she brought home Goodfellas written and directed by one of my favorite filmmakers Martin Scorsese. This movie instantly became one of my favorite movies ever, like most before who had seen the film. I was captivated by its true story and amazing cast of actors who I've loved forever. The leading man of the cast was of course the great Ray Liotta.

Sean PatrickPublished 2 years ago in GeeksClassic Movie Review: 'The Tales of Hoffmann' is Spectacular
The Michael Powell-Emeric Pressburger film, The Tales of Hoffmann, is receiving a brand new Criterion Collection release on Tuesday, June 7th, 2022. Though it is not as well known as Powell and Pressburger’s unparalleled classic, The Red Shoes (1948), The Tales of Hoffmann is quite similar to that 1948 film in terms of style and ambition. Powell and Pressburger’s unprecedented challenge was to bring Opera and Ballet to the big screen in a cinematic package. Their accomplishment of that ambition makes The Tales of Hoffmann historic.
Sean PatrickPublished 2 years ago in GeeksClassic Movie Review: 'The Philadelphia Story'
Class warfare comedies, and especially romantic comedies, have a particular tenor and familiar pattern and much of that pattern was navigated first by the legendary director George Cukor whose films such as Born Yesterday and My Fair Lady were all about the clash of cultures as the background to comic romance. Arguably, Cukor’s finest example of the culture clash romance is the 1940 Academy Award nominee The Philadelphia Story starring Katharine Hepburn, Ruth Hussey, Cary Grant and Jimmy Stewart.

Well, Multiverse of Madness is in the bag for us Marvel fans and we got our villainous Wanda, but what comes next? If you’ve seen the movie, you know that at the end, there was a flash of red that signals that she did some sort of magic spell. Was that her spells dying out and her erasing herself from life? Or was it a new spell that sent her somewhere else, saving her from the fate she thought she had deserved? While we waited for the official answer, I had some thoughts.
