Split Into Pain

Being split into two didn’t have the best outcomes

If you were to ask anyone how they felt about The Split, Patton and Logan would admit in their own ways that they believed it was for the best, Deceit would be...tricky to get an answer out of, and Virgil would just say he was trying to distance himself since it was long before he even tried to get along with the other Light Sides. The silence from everyone else made it deafeningly clear that the only ones that actually felt...anything worth responding with were Roman and Remus. Though various forces tried to keep them apart, they were still connected my different sculptures in their hearts molded by the same pain.

Romulus had a lot of strength within his creativity and, though he had his share of internal struggles, he never felt overpowered by them. He had shed some tears every once in a while, but he felt strong enough to pick himself back up again. One day, however, Patton approached the King with concerns that some ideas produced by him were a bit...disruptive for Thomas. Romulus tried to play it off with his status and the reminder that his ideas havs helped Thomas artistically. Without hesitation, Patton proclaimed that a portion of those ideas might as well be restricted from use before making a movement with his hands of claws scratching away from each other. As he did so, Romulus felt himself being split like his own mitosis. Although he couldn't see it, Romulus could feel one part hastily snatch up certain traits such as light and atelophobia and the other one snatching up darkness and boldness as well as some other traits. It wasn't long before what was once a King Romulus turned into a Prince Roman built for light and a Duke Remus built for deviance and darkness. Once Patton snatched the confused prince away, Remus walked off as if his feet knew where to take him without his acknowledgement.

The two learned quickly that everyone else didn't seem to understand what it was like to go through what they were going through and just spent the existence of the "brothers" just discouraging any interaction with the opposite side (which didn't work for everyone). Over the years, the two aspects of Creativity were restricted by segregation and were silenced by a fear that no one would care. As someone who hastily took the atelophobia and not the boldness, Roman had to smear makeup and arrogance all over his face so no one would come close enough to him notice he was suffering at the hands of beasts within him that claimed he wasn't good enough. Even as he considered talking to someone, he believed they would claim he was being an attention whore. As someone who hastly claimed possession the darkness rather than the lightness, Remus couldn't help but take pride in the many ideas he could come up without a filter. However, he felt down at the thought of his ideas not being taken seriously. He had vivid memories of Thomas using Romulus's more extreme ideas without a second thought, but saw that things had changed. He wished his reputation didn't get in the way of himself being put to good use.

Every night, as they struggle to go to sleep, the two could feel as if they were communicating through each other's pain. They could only imagine what the other half must've gone through with the traits they needed but didn't have. They wanted so much to apologize for contributing to each others' pain and to become a team--a KING--once more. Until that day comes, however, all they could do was live with the pain and having no real help to turn to.

I'm not the most sophisticated adult out there. I'm also not the best at communicating all the time, but I do try my best to get my thoughts out there into the world verbally or nonverbally.
