So, in some of my past articles, I’ve chatted about all sorts of cool Marvel stuff. You can find those linked at the end of this bad boy.

But today, I wanna dive into Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse and all the mind-blowing Spidey versions we saw on the big screen. Hold onto your web shooters, ’cause this is gonna be a wild ride!

What is Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse?

“Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” is an animated superhero film that serves as a sequel to the critically acclaimed 2018 film “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.”

It is part of the larger Spider-Man franchise and is set in a multiverse where multiple versions of Spider-Man from different dimensions coexist.

The film was produced by Sony Pictures Animation and continues the story of Miles Morales, who is the main protagonist of the first film. Miles Morales is a teenager who gains spider-like abilities and becomes the Spider-Man of his universe.

In “Across the Spider-Verse,” Miles Morales once again embarks on an adventure that takes him across different dimensions, encountering various versions of Spider-Man along the way.

The film further explores the concept of the multiverse and introduces new characters from different dimensions. It also continues the unique animation style of the first film, which combines traditional hand-drawn animation with computer-generated imagery.

“Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” was set to be released in two parts, with the first part already released on June 1, 2023. The second part is reportedly planned for release on March 29, 2024. The film is highly anticipated by fans of the original movie and the Spider-Man franchise as a whole.

There are multiple versions?

Did you catch all the Easter Eggs and cameos in Sony’s Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse? Well, here’s a juicy secret that’s just come to light: the movie actually has different versions!

There are a couple of scenes with alternate versions and slightly tweaked dialogue. For example, in one version, Oscar Isaac’s Spider-Man 2099’s assistant Lyla points at Miguel, while in the other, she takes a selfie with a bunny filter.

Another difference can be seen in Spot’s flashback before he uses his collider, where some lines of dialogue have changed. Thanks to eagle-eyed Twitter user @balisonqs for spotting these discrepancies. Check out their tweet below to see the variations.

But that’s not all! Social media is buzzing with claims of more altered scenes, including moments with Vulture and Spider-Punk. And guess what? The film’s associate editor, Andy Leviton, confirmed on his own Twitter that he had been waiting for people to notice these changes. Sneaky, huh?

We’re not sure if all versions were released at the same time or if the audio-enhanced version was swapped secretly to introduce these other versions. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse had a massive opening weekend, raking in over $500 million worldwide — $100 million more than its predecessor, Into the Spider-Verse.

With these new revelations, it might just be worth buying another ticket, as there are probably more surprises between the two known versions of the film.

Final Words

If you haven’t caught it yet, Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse is currently playing in theaters.

Get ready because Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse is set to swing into theaters next March!
