Spoiler alerts used to reveal plots on the daytime dramas ahead of time and they would be accurate. Viewers who enjoy the soaps do not like to be duped and misled. Recently even when the words "set insider and trusted source" are used, the plots sometimes do not come to pass. There are ways to understand what you are reading in print so you will not become so frustrated. To read that something is a sure thing and not see it play out can be difficult to deal with on a regular basis and fans may lose faith in the so called leaks.

When you read a spoiler that gives details of the next day's episode this is one you can usually count on. The names of characters, storylines, and specific information indicate that someone has seen the script or watched the episode a day in advance. The Young and the Restless on CBS airs online the night before the next day's show. This is why you often read detailed information about what is about to happen in Genoa City prior to the episode being shown. General Hospital, The Bold and the Beautiful, and Days of Our Lives do not show up online until the evening after an episode has aired.

Julian Jerome was mudered General Hospital

When you read spoilers with question marks, this indicates that the writer is suggesting a possibility and not saying that what is written will take place. Whenever you read a headline, pay attention to whether or not it is in question form. When it comes to leaks, set insiders, and trusted sources there are several things that could be going on. Someone could have given fake information just to get hits on a story, the writers changed their minds and flipped the script or there was a misunderstanding. Sometimes articles are written for the purpose of getting viewers engaged and making them think. In these situations the information is put before fans to come to their own conclusion.

The term spoiler alert is supposed to mean that the information that is written will spoil the plot by revealing it in advance. Suggestions, teasers, and possibilities are not spoilers and these stories should not be labeled as such. Breaking news is a revelation that just came out that will probably shock the soap fans. This term should not be utilized if there is nothing new and breaking in the article. When actors confirm on Twitter you know that the information is correct.

Thomas is still alive on The Bold and the Beautiful

William deVry's character Julian Jerome has been written out of General Hospital. There have been a number of so-called spoilers about how he will exit the show and thus far non of them have come to pass. Spoiler alerts said that Julian and Lulu Falconeri, (Emma Rylan) would die in an explosion. Lulu was injured and is in a long term care facility but is not dead. Julian on the other hand is still around.

On The Young and the Restless spoilers make a big deal of Doug Davidson returning to the CBS daytime drama and fans expect him to be in a current storyline. Thus far for the past two years, his character Paul shows up for a few episodes and then is gone for months. There were rumors and spoilers in 2020 saying Y&R head writer Josh Griffith and Jason Thompson who plays Billy Abbott were on their way out but both are still with the show. Spoilers also said Billy would hook up with Amanda but he is with Lily.

Billy Abbott is still on The Young and the Restless and dating Lily.

When Days of Our Lives spoilers said Kristen Alfonso was exiting the show as Hope Brady, the actress confirmed it in the news and her exit date coincided with what spoilers had said. What the spoilers got wrong was saying that Hope would leave town with Rafe. On The Bold and the Beautiful the spoilers were correct that Sally Spectra would leave town and show up on The Young and the Restless. They were wrong however when they said Thomas Forrester was going to die. There is also a difference in articles that share what spoilers have projected. These stories are simply repeating the information for the fans to be informed and not a guarantee that it is accurate.

Hope left Salem but Rafe is back.

Take your time to read the headlines, and understand what is being stated and see if there is a question mark at the end. Pay close attention to the wording so you will know if you are reading a true spoiler alert, or not. A good rule of thumb is to read the Twitter feeds of the soap stars, and search for articles to confirm that what you read is true. Take it all with a grain of salt and then be pleasantly surprised when you read the real deal.
