Shaitaan Ending Explained

I'm sure many of you have watched the movie Shaitaan, starring Ajay Devgn, R. Madhavan, and Janki Bodiwala. It's actually a remake of a Gujarati film called Vash.

Luckily, I hadn't seen Vash before Shaitaan, so I didn't spend time comparing the two like others might have.

But for those who have seen both, they say the ending of Shaitaan is quite different from the original.

If any of you have seen the Vash Gujarati movie, then please tell me whether the ending of the Shaitaan movie is really different from Vash. Well, it may be different or not, but after watching the ending of the Shaitaan, many questions roam in the mind, like, Why did Kabeer bring dead rats to Vanraaj? Was Kabeer really the real devil, and why did he keep Vanraaj alive till now? Will Vanraaj ever escape and regain his magical powers? There are many such questions, so let us explain everything in detail.

In Shaitaan, it's a supernatural story, so we shouldn't question how things happen. We just go with the flow and enjoy the ride without asking too many "how's" and "why's.".

Shaitaan Ending Explained

So the film is such that a man named Vanraaj comes to Kabeer's house and takes his daughter Jhanvi under his control. At present, Vanraaj has many different powers. If he wants, he can take anyone under his control. And then he can get her to do whatever he wants, as he is seen giving different orders to Jhanvi, like sometimes he asks her to dance, sometimes he asks her to eat tea leaves, sometimes he asks Jhanvi to slap herself, sometimes he asks her to take off her clothes, and even orders Jhanvi to kill her younger brother, and literally, Jhanvi does all these things.

Vanraaj also had the ability to read minds. This means he could predict what Shekhar's wife or Jhanvi was thinking before they even said it. Now the question comes: despite having so many powers, why does Vanraaj not take Jhanvi? Rather, he asks permission from Kabeer or his wife to take Jhanvi.

If it was just about getting permission, Vanraaj could have tricked Kabeer into eating the biscuit and then controlled him to grant permission. But perhaps the rules of black magic require that permission be given willingly. That's why Vanraaj influences Jhanvi to do questionable things, so eventually, Kabeer or his wife feels compelled to give permission for Vanraaj to take Jhanvi away.

And something similar happens; Vanraaj had also done this with 107 girls who were kept in a devil's temple, and after the completion of 108 girls, he does a process of black magic, after which he gets unlimited magical powers. Now Vanraaj does not need to feed anyone anything to control him; rather, he can control anyone he wants with just his eyes.

In a way, Vanraaj becomes a devil himself, but in the end, when Vanraaj was doing this process, that is, when he was giving sacrifice to those people, at the same time, Kabeer cut his tongue, and then he was not able to give orders to anyone.

And due to a lack of instructions, all those girls could not do anything.

Well, now comes the turn of the biggest question: Was Kabeer actually a devil, and is Part 2 of the Shaitaan movie coming soon? Because if Kabeer was a normal human being, then why was he doing all these things? If he had wanted, he could have handed over Vanraaj to the police, but he imprisoned Vanraaj in a basement and started throwing many dead rats around him, so actually Kabeer was punishing Vanraaj as per Garun Purana. He used to give dead rats to Vanraaj to eat, and if he did not eat the rats, he would die due to their stink.

And Kabeer says in the end that when it comes to family, a common man becomes the biggest devil, and compared to what Vanraaj had done to Kabeer or the rest of the 107 families, a punishment like jail would have been very small. Perhaps that is why Kabeer decided to punish Vanraaj himself instead of handing it over to the police, and I feel that the second part of this movie may come, but maybe the chances are very high that it will not come.

Conclusion

Have you noticed one more thing? R. Madhavan has done such a tremendous job in the film that people do not start getting scared of him in real life. I mean, I have not seen the Vash movie, but I can say this much: R. Madhavan has done a great job in the role of Vanraaj. He was made for this, and there would hardly be any better actor in Bollywood who could perform the role of Vanraaj better than him.

The rest of you can give your opinion as to which part of the movie you found the most scary, how you liked R. Madhavan's performance, and what things you did not understand. Ask in the comments.

Today's day is done for me.

See you.
