General Hospital needs something unexpected to take place in Port Charles and the man to do it would be the brother of Jasper Jax. Although Ingo Rademacher is no longer on the show, Sebastian Roche, with his accent and the twinkle in his eye is still the perfect rogue. Everyone right now is focused on the Sonny, Carly, Nina triangle and the possibility that Willow might be Nelles twin. These storylines have been dragging on and a return from Jerry Jax would rattle practically everyone in town. This would be the ideal time for the elder Jax brother to return to Port Charles and wreak havoc.

With so many people distracted Jerry could get away with much mischief. He would be just the distraction that Alexis needs to get her mind off of her current woes and her increasing sarcasm would complement his way of addressing things. Alexis forgave Julian Jerome many times for his indiscretions so she could easily do the same for the Jax sibling. Jerry’s return might also make him a partner in crime or even a love interest for Liesl Obrecht now that Scott Baldwin is leaving Port Charles.

The man who had made the role of Jerry, uniquely his own is Sebastian Charles Edward Roché who was born on August 4, 1964. That brilliant accent comes from his being Scottish and French. In addition to General Hospital, Roche has portrayed numerous other television characters. He was Kurt Mendel in Odyssey 5, and had the roles of Thomas Jerome Newton in Fringe, Balthazar in Supernatural, and Mikael in The Vampire Diaries and The Originals. Roche was cast as Reichsminister Martin Heusminn in The Man in the High Castle and some General Hosputal fans have voiced that he would make an ideal Janes Bond.

Alexis and Jerry

On General Hospital, Roche’s version of Jerry Jax is a dangerous, yet lovable scoundrel whose very presence brings apprehension. Perhaps his return would bring something new and different to Port Charles. Should Jerry return there would have to be some kind of criminal behavior going on so maybe he might have a connection to Victor Cassadine or Cyrus Renault.

Sebastian Roche was a recast for the role of Jerard "Jerry" Aloysius Jacks beginning in January 2007. The character initially was introduced as a terrorist known as Mr. Craig and his true identity was revealed a few months later. He has appeared in Port Charles many times, including August to September 2012. and one episode on December 18, 2012. Jerry returned for multiple episodes from September 30, 2013. until December 3, of that year. Roché last reprised the role of Jerry Jax on December 10, 2015. In June of 2019, upon learning the evil Jax brother had escaped from prison, Robert Scorpio said something pretty cryptic.

The current Port Charles DA announced that if Jerry so much as checked on the weather in California he would dismember him. Robert has a vested interest in keeping this scoundrel under lock and key because Jerry was once responsible for kidnapping Robert’s daughter Robin among his other crimes. Over the decades Jerry Jax has worked with or against some of the best villains in Port Charles, including Russian mobster Andre Karpov, Anthony Zacchara, Liesl Obrecht and Helena Cassadine.

However it would play out, Sebastian Roche would be a breath of fresh air to the current storylines on General Hospital, although Rademacher's fans probably will not want him back without Jax. This is a long shot but you never know where the minds of soap writers will take them. Stay tuned to General Hospital and be on the lookout for spoilers and updates.
