Scott Clifton discusses 'B&B' return to taping

Scott Clifton portrays Liam Spencer on the CBS daytime drama The Bold and the Beautiful. William Spencer III is the son of publishing magnate Dollar Bill Spencer and Kelly Hopkins who was a model. Liam was raised by his mother and did not know anything about his father until after Kelly died. Liam graduated from college,then went to Los Angeles to find his father. His half brothers are Wyatt Spencer and Will Spencer. Liam has been in a love triangle for decades with Steffy Forrester and Hope Logan. He has been married to both and has a daughter with each woman. The character of Liam was introduced in July of 2010 has the long lost son of Dollar Bill, and has been an integral part of the cast ever since.

When Liam first arrived in LA, he was not certain who his father was and was hoping it would be Thorne Forrester but that did not happen. Clifton said that even though he knew the direction the show was going to take, that he himself, like his character was hoping that Thorne, (then Windsor Harmon) would turn out to be his biological dad. Soap Hub says that during a recent interview Scott Clifton was asked which character on The Bold and the Beautiful would he desire to be like and he said it definitely would not be Liam. Bill Spencer's oldest son is often indecisive and easily manipulated, He is however a good father to his daughters.

During the recent interview Clifton discussed the hiatus from taping and said that the cast and crew were "dying" to get back on track and bring the fans new episodes. Right now B&B is airing classic episodes until futher notice, and Clifton could give no date as to when taping would resume. Liam is currently with Hope and their daughter Beth. They are also raising Douglas whose parents are Thomas, and Caroline(deceased). The actor has had to deal with a real-life shift in his plans the same way the coronavirus interfered with taping of B&B, He had a pre-planned live-tweeting session scheduled but things took an unexpected turn.

The Emmy-winning actor had been ready to do a live commentary during a recent classic rerun on The Bold and the Beautiful. A local news pre-emption, giving an update on the coronavirus put Clifton's segment to a halt. The soap vet did not want to disappoint viewers so he decided to do an impromptu Q&A session with fans of the show. Those who tuned in asked Clifton a variety of questions and the main one was when the CBS daytime drama is going back into production. Clifton say mid May had been projected, but as with other projected dates did not pan out.

In addition to his authorized Twitter account, Scott Clifton also tweets on a different account where he is very outspoken in his atheistic religious views. He openly has dialog with those who disagree as long as the conversation remains civil. In 2017 Clifton's real life son Ford was cast as his daughter Kelly, with Steffy but now the role is portrayed by Zoe Pennington who took over in November of 2018. Spoiler alerts had said Liam and Steffy would get back together again but when new episodes last aired they were only friends and co-parenting their daughter Kelly.

During the years of this love triangle there have been many times when Steffy or Hope wanted Liam and he did not return the feelings. These three have been manipulated by others and also done their own share of trying to make things work out. Prior to the hiatus, B&B had been focusing on the fact that Sally Spectra lied about dying so that will probably be the first storyline to air when the CBS daytime drama brings forth new shows. Unlike his character, Scott Clifton has been happily married to Nicole Lampson since October 2012. The couple had dated for many years prior to tying the knot.
