“The last eight months of life in this industry have left a pretty bitter taste in my mouth, and I need some time away from a world so full of fake friends and empty promises. I’m weary.”

According to Soaps in Depth, these are the words spoken by Soap star and Hallmark favorite Ryan Paevy, proving two things can be accurate simultaneously.

Ryan Paevy is at a crossroads

Paevy is handsome and talented, but he is not earning a living now. This must be a devastating blow and the fact that he mentioned fake friends suggests he has been betrayed. He is being celebrated and yet violated at the same time. Paevy sounds bitter at this point and tired of trying to make it in the entertainment business, which is understandable.

Most importantly, he is honest and sheds light on one of the pitfalls of being an actor. He is not putting on a brave face and pretending he has not been hurt and that is commendable. Paevy brings an important truth to light that some may not desire to address. No matter how talented you are and what your past success has been, there is always the risk of not obtaining the next role. It brings to mind the old adage that an actor is only as good as their last role. For Paevy it's been a minute.

A model, a Hallmark favorite, and a soap star

Paevy began his career as a model, working with Cher and Katy Perry. He did not choose this line of work but was scouted. Now the business that invited him in seems to be rejecting him.

In 2012, he appeared in Christina Aguilera's music video "Your Body." The actor gained fame as Nathan West on General Hospital in 2014 but left the role in 2018, leaving his fans devastated. Nathan and Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) were a popular couple, and for years.

GH fans want Paevy to return as Nathan to Port Charles

GH viewers have been saying on social media they would like to see the character return, but at this point, it doesn't seem likely. There would have to be a lot of explaining because Nathan was buried. Who dug him up and why and where would he have been all of this time away from his wife and son?

Paevy has appeared in many Hallmark films in recent years, but now, he says he has nothing lined up for the future. Amid this dry spell, Women's World has chosen the actor as the number one Hallmark Hunk on a list of 20, and he remains beloved by fans.

Ryan Paevy is taking a break from Hollywood

Due toa labor shortage Paevy has been helping out in his younger brother's restaurant for free. He says he will find a way to stay afloat and is taking the time to regroup mentally and professionally but is not closing the door on acting forever.

“I mean, I’d like to think the powers that be know I’d happily do another film if they wanted me to,” he noted on Twitter. “But I just don’t know anymore. So, I’m just gonna do life, and make plans, and work… and whatever happens, happens.”

Hopefully, Ryan Paevy will be offered another Hallmark film or find work in another television series or movie since this is his craft. He did not announce what career path he might choose outside of acting, but fans believe he will be successful no matter what. Be on the lookout for updates from Paevy regarding what is next in his future and whether or not this includes a return to daytime or Hallmark.
