In the midst of all the choas and death on General Hospital, a fairy tale of sorts. has been taking place. It began during thr masked ball at the Metro Court on Halloween night 2019. That is was when Nikolas Cassadine pulled Ava Jerome from the freezing water after Valentin tried to send her to her death. Some viewers knew then that all would be forgiven between these two, but it took an entire year to get them there, there. On Friday’s episode the duo admitted their love for one another and it truly was the stuff that romance novels are made of. Ava explained to her prince how she chose him over her brother Julian and that made all the difference.

This is huge because the bond between the Jerome siblings has thus far remained unbroken. Nothing and no one had ever come between them before and they were a dynamic duo. Julian and Ava always had each other’s backs and confessed their sins to one another over drinks. Now it seems that the Cassadine heir has become the confidant of the mob princess. The exchange between Nava was heart felt and poetic as each declared ‘ I choose you’ and expressed their love for one another. There is a history of distrust between these two that has been overcome so that true love wins, at least for now.

Ava once chose Valentin paying for her plastic surgery over standing up for Spencer who is now her stepson. Nikolas tried to gaslight her when he returned to Port Charles by making her think he was a ghost and using Kiki’s memory against her. On Friday, Ava asked her prince if he could accept her with all her dirty secrets and he admitted that he had always felt alone until now. When family and friends rallied around Lulu before she was taken to the treatment center, Ava quietly took her place and stood by her man. They held hands like teenagers and it was beautiful to watch.

The coronavirus restrictions prevent Nava from delivering any hot love scenes but the looks between the two and their chemistry is causing some heat of its own. The downside to this relation was s that it came at the corner of Julian. Instead of Nikolas helping him gain a new identity, Ava’s brother stole money from Martin Gray in order to flee Port Charles. After disastrous relationships with Morgan, Sonny, Griffin, and Ryan, Ava is finally a xoeriencingbttue love. Her prince has been involved with Emily Quartermaine, Liz Weber, Sonny’s sister Courtney, Brit Westbourne and Hayden Barnes. None of those relationships lasted but now perhaps Nick has a chance.

He and Ava know about the worst in each other and have also mistreated one another, but through it all their feelings were growing. The Cassadine prince and his mob princess both felt they were tortured, misunderstood souls without a chance at meaningful relationships. Now, thanks to Ava choosing her husband over her brother she has proven herself. The glass slipper fits and the dark prince and he s Cinderella are going to reign supreme from their castle for as long as the writers allow. Ava has made peace with Sonny and Jason because she was willing to shoot her brother and it was a touching scene when Ava told Nikolas that he was all she had left.

Ava even confessed the truth to her husband about why Ryan Chamberlain was blackmailing Julian so now everything is on the table. When Nikolas and Ava were newlyweds several people told them that they deserved each other and that they were cut from the same cloth. When he his was first voiced it was because Nave was perceived as marrying for all the wrong reasons. When things settle down a bit in Port Charles, the residents might be surprised to find out this couple is really in love.
