The Winters presence in genoa City will increase

The Young and the Restless often makes casting choices that baffle the viewers. Beloved characters will be killed off or written out and new people show up in Genoa City who never seem to fit. The CBS daytime drama is now about to bring back a character who basically has all but been forgotten. Last week on The Young and the Restless, Devon asked Nate to mentor his brother Moses, which indicates the young man will soon return to town. For viewers who are not aware of him and those who may have forgotten, this is the son Neil had with Sophia who worked for Devon's biological dad Tucker McCall.

Initially, Sophia was not certain if Neil or his brother Malcolm was her baby daddy. When tests indicated that Neil was the father, Malcolm bowed out gracefully. Some fans saw this as justification because Lily turned out to belong to Malcolm and not Neil. After marrying and then divorcing Sophia, Neil allowed his son to be raised by his mother who left town. The two returned for Neil's funeral but only Sophia was shown at the service. At this point it would have been assumed that Moses was still a young boy. The child has been aged and now is a teen which indicates he could be trouble. He will be attending Walnut Grove High School where Faith Newman is a student.

Faith and her friend Jordan are drinking alcohol and viewers know that Neil was an alcoholic as was his mother. Faith's grandma Nikki is a recovering drinker and Sharon wondered if her daughter got the alcoholic gene. Moses is supposed to be getting ready for medical school but if he gets involved with Faith and Jordan he might find out that he has the same issue as his father and grandmother. Spoilers have not released any information regarding this young man so it's not yet known who will portray him or what his storyline will be.

Devon and Lily might find out they have their hands full with their younger sibling because it's not likely he is being brought back to be a boy scout. The fact that Walnut Grove was mentioned could be a clue that there may be issues at school, or it may have meant nothing at all. Perhaps Moses can fill the void left in his older brother's home now that Elena has moved out. Lily might find that Moses cuts into her time with Billy and she is already dealing with a very jealous Victoria using her children to monopolize her ex-husband's time.

Once he shows up, Moses probably will not stick around long as Y&R does not invest in the teen actors. Alyvia Linn who portrays Faith has grown up on the show and has been allowed to age normally. Cain and Lily's twins, Charlie and Mattie, along with Victoria's son Reed were aged and became fan favorites as they dealt with teenage drama. Viewers became invested in the budding romance between Reed and Mattie but Y&R abruptly let all 3 actors go. Instead of building the storylines of characters, the fans have grown to love, the show now has given Moses the SORAS treatment, which is Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome.

Fans don't like when beloved characters are written out as happened with Cane Ashby and Noah Newman. They also do not care for newcomers who are not given the time needed for viewers to get to know them. Perhaps fans who are pointing out these issues will be wrong and Moses will become a member of Genoa City life. Be sure to watch for updates related to Moses Winters and what his presence in t0wn will mean for the other residents. The Winters/Atkinson family has been decreased over the years so perhaps the presence of Neil's son will be a benefit. Cane, his dad Colin, and the twins are gone. The writers might fool us and this could be an intriguing storyline so stay tuned.
