Soaps.com is reporting that Michael Mealor and Hunter King will return to THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS in October. The duo is supposed to begin taping scenes soon and this is wonderful news for Skyle fans. King and Mealor did a Podcast with SOAP OPERA DIGEST on August 20 confirming they were leaving the CBS soap. They gave no indication at that time that they were heading back into the studio to tape scenes but now 10 days later comes the news that they are.

It is Soap Opera Digest who has released the news that Skyle will soon return to Genoa City. When you click on the Soaps.com link below the spoiler provides a link in their article that is supposed to go to a confirming article but leads nowhere. If you click the second link in this story it takes you directly to SOD and confirms that Mealor and King will be back on THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS sooner than anyone expected. If this were already in the works it seems that it would have been mentioned before now. It could be that the powers that be heard the cry of disgruntled fans and only just now decided to bring the popular couple back.

Many of those who watch THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS who are Skyle fans have said they felt cheated because there was no wedding. Victoria and Ashland are supposed to be getting married in October so Kyle and Summer might return for the nuptials. Locke is allowing Harrison to live in Milan with his father and stepmother so it's only right that the little boy is brought back for his father's big day. Spoilers tease that perhaps Summer and Kyle might get married that day also and there are two ways this could happen.

Although not likely Ashland and Victoria might decide to have a double wedding with Kyle and Summer since everyone is now on good terms. The second scenario is the one that would be the most fun. Perhaps Ashland might collapse before saying "I do" and be unable to continue or someone interrupts the vows with news that causes Vicki to call off things off. If this happens Kyle and Summer could decide it's time they took the plunge. With everyone already gathered this would be ideal.

The second scenario comes from the NBC sitcom A DIFFERENT WORLD in the season 5 finale. Dwayne Wayne showed up at the wedding of his ex-fiance Whitley Gilbert to Byron Douglas. Dwayne spoke up with an objection and Whitley ran down the aisle to him saying 'I do.". An embarrassed Byron and his entorage walked out and the preacher asked if anyone was getting married today? Dwayne pulled Whitley down the aisle and they said their "I do's."

THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS writers already seem to have taken a page from the playbook of the NBC series. After Kyle and Lola married Summer became over the top in her antics to win Kyle back and this was the same behavior that Whitley displayed when Dwayne began dating Kinu Owens. Instead of putting his ex in her place Dwayne Wayne broke up with Kinu and went back to Whitley. Rather than lay down the law to Summer, Kyle left his wife for her.

Whitley pulls away from Byron and runs to Dwayne.

This could all be a coincidence and Skyle simply shows up to support Ashland and Victoria on their wedding day and returns to Italy. There is also a chance that Skyle fans will get their wish and see their favorite couple walk down the aisle. Some may wonder if some type of negotiations are being worked out and the couple will return to Genoa City for good. Be on the lookout for updates related to Michael Mealor and Hunter King's October return because it will no doubt be epic.
