Meet DC's Suicide Squad In These Phenomenal Posters

Let's face it. Few superhero films have drawn quite the attention of Suicide Squad. It's the most-talked-about summer blockbuster on social media, following the release of the trailers, which show an irreverent, entertaining movie guaranteed to bring the laughs. Today, DC released stunning character posters, and man do they show off the squad at their best.

Rick Flag

Meet Rick Flag, the military leader who has the dubious honor of leading the Suicide Squad in battle. Played by Joel Kinnaman, Rick Flag is sure to be in for a rough ride. I mean, how do you keep this bunch in line?

Harley Quinn

ntroduced in the classic Batman Animated Series, Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn seems set to be the film's breakout character, so much so that Robbie's already been signed on to work on her character's own spinoff movie.

Meet Will Smith's Deadshot, one of the most feared assassins in the DC Universe and a classic opponent to Batman. The character's been seriously redesigned for the DC Expanded Universe, but who cares? It's Will Smith, and he's playing one major badass!

Captain Boomerang

OK, I'm going to be honest: I can't believe we're about to see Aussie actor Jai Courtney play a character with the name Captain Boomerang. It's actually rather refreshing to see Suicide Squad even giving the more inane-sounding supervillains a chance to shine.

Can we say creepy? Cara Delevingne looks to be channeling The Grudge with her seriously sinister version of the Enchantress, a woman who has been possessed by the spirit of a witch. She's rumored to become one of the major villains in the film.

Here's to another character I can't quite believe we're about to see on the big screen — Adam Beach's Slipknot! Another brutal killer, his favored weapons are the ropes he uses to deadly effect.

Killer Croc

Bringing the muscle, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje will play the classic Batman villain in a case of evolution gone wrong (in the comics, he's often portrayed as a cannibal). And he's going to be dangerous.

El Diablo

There's something about pyrokinesis that just makes it the coolest superpower ever. Jay Hernandez is Diablo, and he's sure to have one hell of a good time.

One of my favorite designs, Katana, played by Karen Fukuhara, is actually a superhero who has the awkward task of working alongside the Suicide Squad to keep them in line. Good luck, Katana — you're going to need it.

The Joker

We've had some classic versions of the Joker over the years, but how will Jared Leto compare? I'm optimistic — the trailers have shown a Joker who's more sinister than ever before.

Amanda Waller

And rounding out the cast, we have Viola Davis playing Amanda Waller — the black-ops politician who decides to let the bad guys out of their cages.

So there you have it — the gang's all here! Don't those posters look gorgeous? DC seem really confident in Suicide Squad, with a sequel already commissioned, as well as a spinoff starring Harley Quinn. I reckon we're in for a treat!
