Marcus Coloma is out as Nikolas

Last week rumors were flying that Marcus Coloma was out as Nikolas Cassadine on General Hospital and Showbiz Cheatsheet Daytime Confidential has just confirmed the actor was fired. Coloma is said to have refused to tape his final scenes after finding out he was let go from the role so it sounds like things were tense. The reason for the actor losing his job has not yet been revealed but you can read the story by clicking on this link

Soap Hub is also reporting that the soap actor has been released and added that fans noticed on December 12 that Coloma was no longer following any of his General Hospital co-stars on social media or any of the ABC soap's sites. It sounds like Coloma has cut all ties with the ABC daytime drama but at this point no one knows anything for certain.

Coloma was hired by GH in 2019 after rumors continued for two and one half years that Nikolas was alive and would return to Port Charles. The character is currently involved in several front-burner storylines and unless the writers are going to kill him off the Cassadine Prince is needed on-screen.

Nikolas is vital to several front-burner storylines

Nikolas is in the middle of one big mess and fans are wondering how he will dig his way out of it. He has lied to Ava Cassadine (Maura West that he slept with Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst ) and that she is pregnant with his child. He served his wife divorce papers and she is blackmailing his uncle Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) with the fake confession tape that says Nikolas pushed Esme Prince (Avery Kristan Pohl) off the parapet.

General Hospital fans had been hoping Nava would make it as a couple but the writers have practically destroyed them and there probably is no coming back for Nikolas and Ava now. Fans will recall that Ava's brother Julian Jerome ( William deVry) was backed into a corner from which there was no way to return and then he was killed off. It looks like Nik is being dismantled just like his former brother-in-law and will lose all even possibly hsi life.

Will Nikolas be replaced?

Nik is holding Esme captive in the North Tower of Wyndamere and she really is pregnant and says he is the baby daddy. He is estranged from his son Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chaves) because he slept with Esme and is trying to keep an eye on his uncle Victor who is up to no good all over Port Charles. Has the character come to the end of the line or will he be replaced?

Adam Huss replaced Coloma in 2021 and again for a few episodes last month. At that time Tyler Christopher who originated the role said he would love to fill in for Coloma. If GH execs don't let Nikolas become the next victim of the hook killer they might replace him with Huss but Christopher was allegedly let go for behavior related to drinking so they might not consider him again.

The actor still has an image of Nikolas and Ava on his Twitter page which identifies him as portraying the Cassadine Prince on GH. With the departure of Coloma, the ABC soap has been filled with cast drama for 14 months straight since Ingo Rademacher (Jasper Jax) and Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) and two crew members were fired last October. There is certainly more to this breaking story so be on the lookout for updates related to Marcus Coloma and his role on General Hospital.
