The Young and the Restless has a couple of female characters that they do not seem to know what to do with. Spoiler alerts are teasing that the dup might be about to make a drastic change in their lives. What is being suggested will not come as a big surprise to eagle eyed viewers who have been paying attention and expecting this alleged storyline to eventually play out between Lola and Elena. Lola Rosales has not been in a front-burner storyline since she broke up with Kyle. There really was no chemistry between her and Theo and their one night together went nowhere.

Since then she has basically been a shoulder to lean on for Rey, Mariah, and Elena. Lola has been hidden away in the Society kitchen and those who watch The Young and the Restless were beginning to believe she might be written out of the show. Sasha Calle who portrays Lola was just hired to become the first Latino to play Supergirl in an upcoming film. Y&R fans have been wondering if this might cause her to leave the CBS daytime drama but so far nothing has been said on the issue. Now, spoilers are teasing that a relationship might develop between Lola and Elena Dawson.

Lola and Elena have been roommates in the past and shared their romantic woes with each other. Elena has been involved with both Devon and Nate but has not had success with either one. Y&R viewers enjoyed Devon with Hilary and were crushed when Mishael Morgan left the show. When she returned as Hilary's twin Elena, a number of fans were hoping she and Devon would get together. Britney Sarpy who portrays Elena is dating Bryton James, (Devon) in real time. During the COVID-19 restrictions, viewers assumed the two would be together on screen since they could share love scenes without social distancing.

Sarpy was headed towards a Lesbian relationship on General Hospital where she portrayed Valerie the cousin of Lulu Spencer. Her character shared a kiss with Kristina, the daughter of Sonny Corinthos. The actress was not getting any airtime and she left GH and was hired under contract at The Young and the Restless. Some viewers have been watching the storyline directions and how neither Lola nor Elena have been successful in dating men. These fans have assumed that the writers might possibly take the women into a situation where they became they became more than friends.

Regarding the young couples on The Young and the Restless, it seems only Kyle and Summer have had staying power. Mariah and Tessa have gone through ups and downs and Ms. Porter spends most of her time on the road as her portrayer was removed from contract status. Even Abby and Chance are not enjoying the life of newlyweds as viewers had thought they would. There were rumors some time back that Lola might hook up with Noah Newman but he is no longer a part of the Genoa City scene.

Theo left town and Kyle seems solid with Summer except for the Tara Locke situation. Lola is no longer in Skyle's vocabulary. Time and Saha Calle's filming schedule will have the biggest impact on these characters for now. Spoilers have been known to be wrong but sometimes they are spot on. Stay tuned to The Young and the Restless to find out if Elena and Lola remain BFFs, turn into friends with benefits, or actually fall for one another. Be on the lookout for news regarding how the role as Supergirl will affect Sasha Calle's character on Y&R.
