Loki Season 1 Episode 1 Recap

For anyone who hasn’t re watched Avengers Endgame recently, the show begins with the reason because of which the series was possible which was hulk smashing out of the stairs and hitting Tony Stark because of which he losses Tesseract and it goes directly to Loki which he picks up and transports to Mongolia's Gobi Desert.

After waking up he starts threatening the locals until the TVA task force arrive lead by Hunter B-15 (played by Wunmi Mosaku). They arrest him for crimes against Sacred Timeline and then reset the timeline as it was supposed to be.

Hunter B-15 then delivers Loki to Time Variance Authority. After being processed by their system which involves changing his clothes through a robot then signing all the words that he had said. After that going through a scanner which confirms that Loki is not secretly a robot because if it was a robot then the machine would melt him which scared Loki because of which he doubts if he is a robot or not.

He is then given a short description about the TVA’s existence and mysterious celestial beings The Timekeepers who prevent small hic cups in the timeline which can result in multiverse madness (Multiverse and Madness are the exact words that were used in the series because in MCU everything is connected).

While Loki goes through the checking system we are introduce to Agent Mobius who is investigating the deaths of TVA taskforce in 1549 France and also the stolen device which helps in resetting the timeline in the way it was supposed to be. We are then introduced to a small girl who points towards devil when asked who is the one who did this. The girl also gives a pack of blue bubble gum to Mobius indicating that the culprit was definitely from another timeline.

We see Loki going through a trial where he is declared guilty but is saved by Mobius who thinks that Loki could help in saving the multiverse. He then sits with Loki and discuss who he really is and showing him all the thing that he has done past. We also see that Loki was the one who was DB Cooper who stole money from bank and disappeared in thin air.

Then Hunter B-15 takes Mobius with her leaving Loki alone (bad idea). He then escapes and understands that Infinity Stones that were the most powerful stones in world does not have any powers in TVA and are used as paperweights.

Loki then understands and goes back to the room and sees what would have happened if he did not escape from Stark Towers. That involves how he was responsible for his mother’s dead and Odin (Loki’s father) confessing that he loved both his children and Thor saying that he also loved Loki. He also confessed that “"I don't enjoy hurting people. I don't enjoy it. I do it because I have to, because I've had to. Because it's part of the illusion. it's the cruel elaborate trick conjured by the weak to inspire fear." Mobius asks for help from Loki to capture the Variant causing problems in the timeline. He also tells Loki that he is the one who is causing problems in the timeline and stealing the devices used for resetting the timeline.

Then in the end, we see TVA taskforce arriving 1858 Oklahoma to reset the timeline when they fields are set on fire and the officers are killed by a figure whose face we do not see but got to see a cloak figure. Basically, the best way to end a pilot episode.
